About this file
This combined synopsis and solicitation requests quotations for RNA sequencing services to support research on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The National Institute on Aging requires RNA sequencing of 20 human samples involving library construction, sequencing on an Illumina NovaSeq6000 platform, and delivery of FASTQ, BAM and VCF files. The period of performance is June 21, 2021 through June 20, 2022. Pricing shall be fixed price. Responses are due by June 8, 2021 and shall be submitted electronically to the contact, including evidence of the offeror's capability to fulfill the requirement and pricing information. STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)
(SOW)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
RNA Sequencing Services
Statement of Need and Purpose:
RNA sequencing of disease samples and controls will be fully characterized. RNA sequencing services are necessary for us to be successful in completing our research project’s aims.
Background Information and Objective:
The Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias is an ambitious program to genotype disease patients and controls around the world to further understand the genetic architecture of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. There is still much to learn about genetic risk factors and the path to further understanding requires working collaboratively and openly sharing data, processes, and results.
Period of Performance:
6/21/21 thru 6/20/22
Contract Type:
Firm Fixed Price
SCOPE OF WORK
General Requirements:
Independently and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel, material, equipment, and facilities, not otherwise provided by the Government as needed to perform the Statement of Work below.
Specific Requirements:
RNA sequencing of 20 human samples. Prior to the sequencing runs, libraries will need to be constructed using Illumina’s scRNA-Seq kits and divided into 80 pooled libraries. Sequencing will be performed using the latest Illumina NovaSeq6000 platform and other related instrumentation. Vendor will provideFASTQ, BAM and VCF files as the deliverable. The resultant data will be in the form of 750M total reads from 1 lane. Data can be transferred via cloud-based data transfer tool (if applicable) or in HDD format. The turnaround time should be approximately 4-6 weeks after samples have passed initial quality control.
LEVEL OF EFFORT:
Vendor staff will provide the assay results via reporting transfer thru email.
