About this file

This Statement of Need details a procurement for a new carver-grinder router for the North Florida/South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Orthotics and Prosthetics department in Gainesville, FL. The VA requires replacing end-of-life equipment with a brand name or equal router that provides enhanced safety and ergonomic features, specifically recommending the Landis MTF 200 HV model. Key requirements include electronic height adjustments, a built-in emergency shut-off function, vacuum connection system, capability to smooth plastic and composite materials, and floor mounting to reduce vibration.

The current router is over 25 years old, lacks safety features, and poses potential health risks like silicosis from particle inhalation. The procurement is an open market solicitation, allowing contractors to bid alternative brands that meet the specified salient characteristics. The equipment will be delivered to Malcom Randall VAMC at 1601 S.W. Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL, with the contractor responsible for shipping, delivery, unboxing, and debris removal. The solicitation requires the contractor to provide the manufacturer's warranty on all supplied equipment.
