Statement of Need

Background:

The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center has a requirement to replace end of life special processing drying cabinets. Sterile driers are used for reusable medical devices (RMD) that must be dried before sterilization.

Special Processing Drying Cabinets:

Salient Characteristic:

The offerors equipment shall meet or exceed the following characteristics for the required

Special Processing Drier features, fit, and form.

• Tempered glass doors

• Interlocking doors available on pass-through cabinets

• Configurations include both free standing cabinet and pass-through cabinet

• 29” cabinet has 9 shelves and 4 scope hangers

• 38” cabinet has 18 shelves

• Timer countdown for each shelf. Advises then the devices are nearing their user-selected drying limits.

• 304 stainless steel

• Removable shelves that can be decontaminated in a washer / disinfector

• Each shelf capable of holding up to 25 lbs load

• Removeable, stainless steel drip pan

• Door alarm sounds if door left open for 45 seconds to help minimize heat loss

• Touch screen control

• Ability to set temperature; maximum settable temperature of 58C

• Optional air purge connectors with luer locks

• Optional scope specific adapters for air purge

• Internal cabinet LED lighting; 1 per shelf

• HEPA filtered air

• Gasketed doors and insulated cabinet minimize heat loss

• Schedule option allows facility to create a daily schedule of when the cabinet is heated. Energy saving feature reduces electrical consumption when unit is not in use.

• Must be cleaned by a NF/SG SPS approved product.

• Installation Requirements:

o Include all necessary labor and materials required to uncrate, set-in-place and assemble equipment.

o Normal working hours, Monday – Friday 8 am -5 pm unless otherwise noted.

o Includes with its Installation Services an operational check-out test, any necessary adjustments, and a demonstration of the equipment for appropriate facility personnel.

o Facility will provide electric utilities.

Delivery:

• Vendor shall deliver equipment to the warehouse no later than 30-days from the date of award to the place of performance indicated below.

WARRANTY OF EQUIPMENT: Offeror shall provide all manufacturer(s) warranty and any extended warranties information for all offered equipment and accessories.
