Ohio River Islands NWR Statement of Work
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
This work is to be considered improvements to Real Property number 10051626.
Two Clipper Creek HCS-40 Level 2 EV chargers will be installed at Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge. One will be installed at the headquarters staff parking lot to facilitate the future use of electric vehicles for refuge purposes and the other charging station will be positioned at the nearby visitor parking lot to be made available for public use while visiting the refuge visitor center. The visitor parking lot charging station will also be equipped with a separate 110 outdoor rated outlet for public use for charging electric scooters/bicycles, etc.
An electrical tie-in will occur at the main distribution panel with two new 208/240 volt 40A breakers to provide service required by the chargers. A preliminary assessment by a certified electrician shows that there is ample supply to the distribution panel and plenty of room for additional breakers. Wiring will be routed through existing conduit to the exterior of the office building where it will be placed in conduit in a trench for a total distance of approximately 232
ft. to reach the two charger locations. Trenching will be through the grassed front yard of the office. Conduit will be sized to allow an additional feed wire and a pull string will be included in the conduit.
There will be one charger mounted on pedestals at each location and each pedestal will be capable of expansion to receive an additional future electric vehicle charger.
Work will meet or exceed current NEC requirements.
Electrical costs will be borne by the station.
All electrical work shall be performed by a licensed electrician.
