ATTACHMENT A- SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

ENT Guided Navigation System

Salient Characteristics:

· Must have EM type of navigation at a minimum but can also have other types of navigation capabilities

· Must have hind-tracked and tip-tracked instrumentation and tracking methods

· Must have reusable probes, suctions, and necessary single use items for instruments

· Must be able to track other (plug & play) instrumentation

· Must support use of Optical and EM designed instruments

· Must have disposable type patient trackers

· Must have registration scan capabilities for MR/CT

· Vendor must provide in-service delivery, set-up, functionality checks/tests, and continued support for repairs/warranty issues

· Wheeled cart:

· Mobile capability to allow unit to move from room to room

· High-definition touch screen monitor, flat panel design, that is adjustable via attached arm to allow multiple configurations for user needs

· Lockable wheeled casters

· At least one or more storage bins

· Input/Output (I/O) panel for connections to optical instruments and/or microscopes

· USB keyboard/mouse

· EM instrument interface

· Horizontal sliding work surface

· Infrared camera to enable geometrically triangulation of the spatial coordinates for each optical marker on the instrument and the reference frame

· Electromagnetic emitters/fields:

· Must support use of 2 emitter designs (one at a time is adequate): side-mount and flat, via EM emitter port(s) on an (I/O) panel

· Must support use of Side-mount emitter navigation field

· Must support use of Flat-emitter navigation field
