a) Requirements –

1. High-resolution video endoscope

2. Dual channel incorporating 3.2mm primary channel and 3.7mm therapeutic channel

4. Illumination system designed to provide detailed high-resolution imaging for both diagnosis and pre-therapeutic assessment

8. The stiffness of the flexible portion of the endoscope can be adjusted

9. Soft ended bending section

10. Observation capability up to 2mm Compatibility – Must be compatible with current gastrointestinal applications and needs.

d) Purpose – VAGLA’s Gastroenterology division requires a replacement FUJIFILM endoscope to provide imaging for upper and lower GI applications. It is intended for use in the upper gastrointestinal and sigmoid colon, and its suitability for various therapeutic procedures allows flexibility for physicians. This endoscope is an essential device used for gastrointestinal procedures and there is currently no substitute or alternative. Not replacing this device would immediately affect direct patient care and the division would have to send patients who need a procedure related to this device to other hospitals. Such procedures are common so the device is used routinely.
