MEMORANDUM FOR CONTRACTING

FROM: 177OG/DET1

SUBJECT: Vehicle Exhaust Removal System

Warren Grove Range requires an Exhaust Removal System for our Vehicle Maintenance bays, to satisfy an outstanding Risk Assessment Code 3 safety write up (Control Number H-20190228-1), and provide a means to safely service and repair vehicles and equipment.

This Exhaust Removal System must have 2 separate systems the following features:

− Direct Mounted Reel Blower o Each motor must be rated at 2 Horsepower minimum o Must run on 3 phase power o Must have a fan control box starter for each blower o Each blower must be rated for a minimum of 1000 CFM

− Motorized Hose Reel o Must be capable of being ceiling mounted, wall mounted, or mounted in a drop down ceiling configuration o Must support an 8” hose, a minimum of 40’ in length o Must utilize a 2 button pendulum switch for raising and lowering hose o Must run on 120 volts o The hose reels must be powder coated to resist corrosion

− Reel Ducting system o Must consist of 6” quick fit duct work o Must be laser welded o Must clamp together o Must utilize a bird screen at the end of each vent pipe

− Silicone/Nomex Coated hose o 8” diameter o Minimum 40’ length o Hose must be double ply, with an inner liner made of woven fiberglass coated silicone rubber, and an outer ply constructed from woven nomex coated in silicone rubber.

o Hose must have a helically wound spring steel wire between inner and outer layers o Hose must have a constant use temperature rating of no less than 600° F, and an intermittent temperature rating of no less than 1250° F o Hose must meet Military Spec: MIL PFR 62028 – Paragraph 4.7.8 72 Hours at 1000° F o Each hose must have a stainless steel tapered cone tailpipe adapter with a spring clamp and a lifting sleeve option
