Statement of Work Trailer Mounted Resistive Load bank with 1000KW rating Facilities Management Service Sheridan VAHCS 666
1. Purpose: To obtain a 1000KW capacity, trailer mounted, resistive load bank, with controls and cables. This piece of equipment is vital in the monthly and annual testing of all eight hospital emergency generators.
2. Background: Load banks are used to commission, maintain, and verify electrical power sources, such as diesel generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Currently the Sheridan VAHCS does not own a load bank and must contract out for this service every time one of our generators or larger UPS needs to be tested. Purchasing this equipment would pay for itself within five years based on current service contract costs.
3. Performance Period: The training shall be accomplished upon delivery and setup, for 8 hours, which can be spread over two days. Training should cover each of the generators onsite, on how to properly connect the load bank to each station generator and run the appropriate tests. This would allow the Sheridan VAHCS employees the opportunity to digest, to work and gain a better understanding of the program before the next session. The training will be for 4 people.
4. Warranty: The load bank, trailer and all associated systems shall have a minimum warranty of 1 year.
