STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR FISH AND WILDLIFE WALK‐IN COOLER
REPLACEMENT
Natural Resources Office
6141 Range Road, Barksdale AFB, LA 71110
BACKGROUND: This statement of work specifies the purchase of a replacement 10’ x 14’ walk-in cooler for the fish and wildlife management program at the Natural Resources Office, 6141 Range Road, Barksdale AFB, LA 71110.
JUSTIFICATION: This cooler will be used to replace an existing cooler at Natural Resources that is used to store seeds and tree seedlings used for wildlife management. The existing cooler is beyond its usable life span and is leaking cool air from a damaged door opening and panel seams and these openings are also allowing access for rodents and other seed destroying pests.
DESCRIPTION: The replacement cooler is a 10 x 14 foot, self-contained, free-standing, one piece unit that will eliminate these issues. Its 100% seamless, one-piece fiberglass design has no access points for rodents or other pests that can destroy stored items. And the lack of joints and a highly efficient door seal, reduces air leaks making it more energy efficient. Additionally the floor is rated to handle the weight of full pallets while moving large amounts of seeds utilizing a pallet jack, the door opening is large enough to allow pallets to be moved in and out of the unit, via the steel ramp, without damaging door edges. A floor drain is included to allow proper cleaning of the unit. The cooler should be able to maintain temperatures down to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. This cooler must be designed for outdoor applications with a wall thickness of at least 4 inches and a roof thickness of 6 inches. A minimum warranty period of 5 years on the compressor, 12 years on the structure and 25 years on the insulation is also required for this purchase.
The following items are also required for the cooler:
Anti-Microbial Interior Finish Condensate Line Defrost Timer Door Closer/Door Sweep Seal Exterior Hasp Lock Heated Door Jamb Interior Lighting Lockable Door Latch
