MERC Work Benches

30 Jan 2019

1. Introduction: The Wright-Patterson Medical Equipment Repair Center Department (MERC) located at Wright Patterson Medical Center requires new work benches and shelving to perform medical equipment maintenance.

2. Background: New work benches and shelving are required to properly perform maintenance on equipment located throughout the medical center.

3. Delivery Date: Within 8 weeks upon award

4. Building address: 4881 Sugar Maple Drive

5. Minimum Requirements:

o Color

• All metal surfaces of the equipment purchased shall be blue in color upon our approval selection

• Outlets and overhead LED lights shall be white, black, or gray in color o Size (work bench) quantity 29 identical

• Height (to desktop): 38-40 inches total

• Height (top of back panel from floor): 80-87 inches

• Width: 68-74 inches

• Depth: 30 inches

• 26 workbenches shall be connected in pairs with a 30 inch x 30 inch desktop between each

• Each work bench shall have a dual monitor mount centered on desk mounted on back panel with full motion swing arm o Size (island table) 5 identical

• Height (to desktop): to match work bench

• length: 60 inches

• Depth: 30 inches o Size (island table) 4 identical

• Height (to desktop): to match work bench

• length: 48 inches

• Depth: 30 inches o Size (equipment storage shelves) 3 identical

• Height: 80-87 inches

• length: 40-45 inches

• Depth: 27 - 30 inches

• Minimum 200 lbs/shelf (quantity 4)

STATEMENT OF WORK

o Size (literature storage shelves) 2 identical

• Height: 80-87 inches

• length: 40-46 inches

• Depth: 15 - 30 inches

• Minimum 200 lbs/shelf (quantity 4 - 5) o Size (literature storage shelves with drawers) 2 identical

• Total Height: 87 inches

• length: 40-46 inches

• Depth: 27 - 30 inches

• Drawer height (x4): 12 inches

• Minimum 400 lbs/shelf (quantity 2)

• Drawers shall have the ability to accommodate file hangers o Accessories

• Locks for the drawers of the workbenches (quantity 29)

• Dual monitor mounts (quantity 29)

• 6 outlet mountable power strips with 10 foot cord (quantity 58)

• Overhead LED lights with power cord length that shall be long enough to be plugged into the purchased power strips and shall be 48 inches x 12 inches (quantity 29)

• Interchangeable and identical 12 inch x 30 - 36 inch shelves that can be mounted on the back panel of the workbenches (quantity 116) o Configuration (Desks)

• 11-12 inch drawers (quantity 1-2)

• 4-6 inch drawers (quantity 2-3)

• The two smaller drawers shall be situated over the two larger drawers and all drawers shall be located under each desk on the same side of the desk

• All work surfaces shall be made of butcher block wood, with clear sealant

• Desktops will have beveled edges where they are exposed to technicians

• Flat, solid, metal backing from desktop to maximum height

• All work surfaces shall be flush between islands, desks, and connections o Installation - Installation shall be completed in 2 or 3 phases to allow for continuation of operations. The vendor will be responsible for assembly and installation of all purchased equipment. The position of all purchased equipment will be determined by the MERC shop manager at the time of installation. Installation shall only occur during the normal duty hours (0730 – 1630 Monday thru Friday). Installation shall begin no later than 5 business days after delivery of each phase. Installation shall take no longer than 5 business days to complete each phase. The vendor will be held responsible for any damage to the facility incurred by assembly or installation of the purchased equipment.

o Removal - Removal shall be completed in 2 or 3 phases to allow for continuation of operations.

Removal will be completed immediately prior to installation in the same number of phases as the installation. The distributor will be responsible for disassembly and removal of all equipment being replaced (32 work benches, 3 equipment shelves, 5 island tables, 6 literatures shelves, 2 literature shelves/drawers). The coordination of all removed equipment will be determined by the MERC shop manager at the time of removal. Removal shall only occur during the normal duty hours (0730 – 1630 Monday thru Friday). The vendor will be held responsible for any damage to the facility incurred by disassembly or removal of the existing equipment.

o Disposal - The vendor will be responsible for the disposition of all equipment that is being removed in accordance with all state and local regulations.

o Warranty – A one year warranty shall be included in the purchase price of the equipment at a minimum. The warranty will cover defective parts and labor to replace such parts for one year following installation or fifteen months from shipment whichever period is longer.
