Prepared By: Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Susquehanna PA Logistics Support Branch New Cumberland, PA 17070
1. Required Location:
| DLA DISTRIBUTION SUSQUEHANNA PENNSYLVANIA |

| MECHANICSBURG, PA 17055 |
2. Background:
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a United States (U.S.) Department of Defense (DOD) agency that provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. DLA Distribution and DDSP provide shipment of materials conus and o-conus to support our warfighters and other customers. The IMC is the main warehouse of the 25 warehouses we operate in Mechanicsburg.
The IMC contains four crane sections called “VO’s”. There are 15 aisles in each VO with storage racks on both sides of each aisle. The Lansing cranes are 45-foot tall and are over 30 years old. Most of the replacement parts are not available anymore due to age of vehicle. The breakdown calls are increasing as we speak due to this. This is also an increasing number of manhours to service and upkeep the cranes. We currently have 5 cranes sitting outside the aisles that cannot be fixed now (hanger queens), due to parts not available.
3. General Requirements:
DLA Distribution Support Susquehanna, PA. (DDSP) has a requirement for a contractor to breakdown 19 Lansing cranes by removing the 45-foot mast in 2 sections and to disconnect from base of crane.
