About this file
This document contains a sources sought notice and specifications for a white light interferometer. The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks information on vendors that can provide a white light interferometer with 3D coherence scanning interferometry capabilities, vertical scan range of 20mm for 3D imaging, view field stitching, optical zoom from 0.5X to 100X, XY stage travel range of 150um, and ability to image samples up to 150mm in height. Responses are requested to include company profile, manufacturer information if different, product specification sheets and examples, typical lead time for delivery and installation, and small business verification. The purpose is to determine if there are small businesses that can meet the requirement to potentially set aside this acquisition.

Requirements / Specification Document
TITLE: White Light Interferometer
Requesting Laboratory / Division / Group:
Communications Technology Laboratory RF Technology Division Guided Wave Electromagnetics Group MS67201
General Statement of Need:
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), CTL/RFT, in Boulder, CO has a requirement to produce broadband electrical calibration artifacts as part of its calibration service for scattering parameter traceability up to 18 GHz. Precision manufactured calibration artifacts are required to maintain accurate traceable calibrations for internal and external customers.
Development in coaxial connector technology has been made allowing production of higher precision airline calibration artifacts. To characterize these artifacts and the associated test ports, we require a white light interferometer imaging system. This will allow NIST to accurately characterize the surface features and roughness of microwave connectors for quality control and finite element modeling.
