About this file

This is a specifications document for a UV analyzer procurement by the USDA in Salinas, California. The USDA is developing fumigation treatment procedures for plant disease and pest control using chlorobenzene, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2), and requires a single multi-gas analyzer capable of monitoring all three fumigants rather than deploying multiple single-gas analyzers.

The specified equipment is a UV Analyzer equivalent to the Applied Analytics Model OMA-406R Rack Mounted configuration. The analyzer must monitor fumigant concentrations across high concentration ranges and include either an adjustable relay switch or 4-20mA analog signal output for controlling external devices such as solenoid valves. The required concentration measurement ranges are: chlorobenzene (0-5,000 ppm), nitrogen dioxide (0-10,000 ppm), and sulfur dioxide (0-20,000 ppm). The document does not specify delivery dates, pricing terms, contract vehicles, or evaluation criteria.

Attachment 1 Specifications UV Analyzer – Salinas CA

1. Summary: The USDA is in process of developing fumigation treatment procedures for chlorobenzene, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) for plant disease and pest control.

We need an analyzer to monitor fumigant concentrations, and require an analyzer can be used to monitor all three fumigants, instead of using multiple single gas analyzers.

2. Specifications

2.1. UV Analyzer Brand Name or Equal to Applied Analytics Model OMA-406R Rack Mounted

2.2. Monitors fumigant concentrations of chlorobenzene, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide

(SO2) for plant disease and pest control

2.3. The analyzer needs to have high concentration ranges of all the fumigants and is equipped with an adjustable relay switch or 4-20mA analog signal output to be used to control other devices such as solenoid valve.

2.4. The desired concentration ranges for the three fumigants are:

2.4.1. Chlorobenzene (0-5,000 ppm)

2.4.2. NO2 (0-10,000 ppm)

2.4.3. SO2 (0-20,000 ppm)
