About this file
This document contains specifications for a near-infrared spectroscopy sample analyzer to be procured by the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service under solicitation number 12905B23Q0244. The analyzer must be capable of determining protein, moisture, fat, ash, fibre, starch and color levels in biological samples weighing as little as 10 grams or 5 grams at a rate of at least one sample per minute. It must operate in reflectance mode across a wavelength range of 850 to 2500 nanometers with a signal to noise ratio under 50 micro absorbance units in the 400 to 700 nanometer range. Additional requirements include a data interval and spectral resolution under 0.5 nanometers, wavelength precision under 0.005 nanometers and accuracy within 0.05 nanometers of an internal reference standard, and an absorbance range less than or equal to 2 absorbance units. The supplied software must support discriminant analysis, local predictions, and display and selection of individual subscans.
