k. Connecting oven panels: high-density mineral-wool insulation for excellent thermal efficiency

l. Details are subject to final engineering. Drawings and schematics will be provided after receipt of award.

2. Blower/Heater Unit:

a. One blower/heater unit is supplied – mounted on the back of the oven.

b. Total recirculation air volume is approximately 11,100 CFM, 7.5 HP motor

c. Provides nearly 14 volume changes per minute for optimal turbulence and enhanced uniformity

d. Heated air exits the blower/heater unit then travels across the plenum area above the work chamber and down through ducts adjusted as needed to optimize air flow throughout the chamber and provide excellent temperature uniformity

e. Return air from the process is then drawn down to floor and into the return ducts

f. Adjustment of side wall supply ducts allows precise optimization of temperature uniformity

g. Internal Duct Work: The oven features our proprietary ducts which are centered on each

2 foot sections of the oven on both side walls – subject to change based on engineering

3. Summary Composite Curing Features:

a. 4 thermocouple part surface temperature input

b. 4 are supplied, but included hardware allows additional input cards to be added anytime in the future

c. 4 vacuum supply ports inside

d. Includes external manifold with hand valves to each supply port

e. Inside ports are ¼ inch NPT pipe – customer is to provide hose fittings per preferred vendor / make / model

f. 4 external vacuum gauges with inside connection ports

g. Provided for monitoring bag vacuum

h. Assumes 2 hose connections per bag – one from the supply and one going to gauge for simple visual monitoring

4. Supplied Controller & Recorder:

Attachment 1 SOW FA9301-22-Q-0033 B1600 Composite Oven MXG Page 12 of 21

a. Eurotherm Nanodac with iTools software

b. Details per above link to Eurotherm Nanodac Recorder / Controller web page

c. Features Include:

d. Multiple programs can be stored

e. Records all thermocouple inputs, setpoint temperatures, air temperature for export, downloading via network, or in real time on computer

f. Cascade temperature control with two control loops and “lead / lag” ramp and soak

g. First loop is part temperature where the “leading thermocouple” of the 4 thermocouple inputs is chosen for controlling ramp rate. The “lagging thermocouple” is then used to initiate the “soak time” when the coolest part temperature reaches within a preset deviation from set-point.

h. The first loop generates an “air temperature set-point” which is sent to the second control loop. The second loop will control the air temperature in order to maintain the desired part temperature ramp rate. Since the chamber temperature uniformity is within +/- 10°F, all parts in the work volume will be subjected to the same air temperature and heat at the same rate. Variations in thickness and other factors will be automatically compensated for with the lead / lag control scheme.

i. NOTE: The Eurotherm Nanodac and this dual loop – cascading control configuration / lead – lag for thermocouple selection is the same used by Boeing for composite processing / production

j. End of Cycle Alarm – sounds at the end of the programmed heating cycle

5. General Alarm – sounds for a temperature deviation, excessive lagging of coolest temperature, etc. as programmed

a. Accelerated Cooling: Features a “DEVIATION HIGH” alarm function which will actuate powered dampers in both the exhaust and fresh air ducts to bring fresh cooling air through the system to enhance the cooling rate.

b. The Accelerated Cooling function uses the same blower and dampers required by the Class A rating

c. Modbus / Ethernet integration and remote viewing / control / programming

d. iTools Engineering Studio: Allows connection of the Eurotherm Nanodac and the thermocouple input modules using iTools Engineering Studio – Trending Software and OPC Scope to plot and record all variables including thermocouples and setpoint temperatures.

6. Thermocouples: Type J thermocouples are provided. Oven will include both the control thermocouple which monitors the air temperature of the oven and the high limit thermocouple.

7. Vacuum System: A vacuum manifold system is provided with ¼” NPT connection piping located inside the oven. Four (4) ports are provided from a manifold located outside and along a wall of the oven. Client is to provide the quick connect hardware for connecting hose to vacuum bags from both the vacuum source connections. External manual valves are provided for each vacuum source connection.

a. The system will include four (4) ports that connect directly to externally mounted 2” commercial vacuum gauges reading -30” Hg mercury

b. Note: Typically vacuum transducers are used instead of gauges. The transducers provide an analog signal to a data acquisition system for each bag (two hose connections per bag – source and sensor). Additionally a transducer is provided on the vacuum manifold for comparison readings to indicate if a bag has failed with a leak.

Transducers could be easily added in the future to replace the gauges

c. OPTIONAL Cooling System / Automatic Chamber Pressure Control System:

i. For maintaining cooling curves at lower temperatures of up to 5° F per minute down to 130° F (part handling temperature - not air temperature) an enhanced cooling system is provided. This includes a larger exhaust blower along with air inlet dampers on the "negative side" of the recirculation air blower – and a chamber pressure sensor double acting switch. As the cooling curve begins to lag the desired cooling curve a “deviation high” alarm on the controller will activate to cause a damper on the exhaust to open. As the damper opens the chamber pressure will become negative which is sensed by the chamber pressure switch which will cause a damper on the negative side of the recirculation air blower (located next to the burner) to bring the chamber pressure neutral again (with more air moving through to drive down the temperature). This will happen automatically to maintain the desired cooling profile.

ii. Note: The chamber pressure control system functions independently and will automatically maintain chamber slightly positive regardless of building pressure.

This is especially useful if in the winter the building becomes negative relative to the outside from many exhaust blowers. If there is adequate air makeup then this is not a problem.

iii. Note: Depending on ambient temperatures inside of facility - it may be necessary for the buyer to provide outside air ducts to the cooling air inlets.

8. Start-Up – Tuning and Optimizing Operation with Training: Following completion of installation perform the initial TUS, refine control features and tuning, as well as any needed operator and maintenance training all performed by our Chief Technology Officer in accordance to AMS2750E and customer Standard Operating Procedure.

b. Doors are as per the cover photo – two sections (bi-opening)

c. The door opens to the full 8 foot height and 8 foot width of the oven

10. Control Enclosure:

a. The control enclosure houses all necessary control functions and components. Included in the enclosure are:

b. All needed indicating lights, buttons, and switches for system operation.

c. Temperature controller, high limit controller

d. Power disconnect switch rated at 350 AMPS is included and removes all power from the system as required per National Electrical Code
