Scope of Service
Services will be provided at Santa Rosa Boarding School, HC 01, Box 8400, SELLS AZ 85634.
Site Visits Site Visits can be in conjunction with the Book Study sessions. This will be an opportunity for
Consultants to work side by side with Mentor Teachers at their sites as they engage in an academic coaching cycle with teachers. Emphasis will be placed on supporting teachers in analyzing data, including formative and summative assessments along with student work and artifacts. Mentor teachers will work with teachers to set goals or next steps for instruction based on the student evidence. Additionally, Consultants will support Mentor Teachers in continuing the coaching cycle that includes co planning, modeling instructional strategies, co teaching, observational feedback to build capacity in the teacher to meet and move students along in their learning.
In addition, Consultants will work with teachers on how to analyze data with and conduct effective, timely data chats with groups to support student achievement. Consultants will empower teachers to make instructional decisions based on the student work and data. The monthly on site visits allow for follow up with the teachers and ensure follow through in a supportive, engaging manner.
The contractor provide 1 Math Consultant and 1 ELA Consultant for 2-4 days per month.
Anticipated Outcomes
● Teachers will create and maintain professional relationships with one another.
● Teachers will work together as collaborative teams in meaningful PLC’s (professional learning committees)
● Teachers will be able to compile, analyze and organize meaningful data on a concise data form.
● After gathering data teachers will understand next steps such as grouping students, gathering intervention and enrichment resources and which standards need to be taught whole group, small group and or one-on-one. (tiered instruction) This will be done using their blue data folders.
● Teachers will be able to write meaningful standards based lesson plans that include explicit instruction.
● Teachers will create and use curriculum maps/pacing guides for the 2022 - 2023 school year.
● If learning is still hybrid, teachers will be able to deliver effective instruction to both in person and online students.
● If combo classes (multiple grade levels with the same teacher) are still necessary, teachers will be able to deliver effective grade level standard based instruction to all students.
Provide the following per visits:
● Standards-based summative assessments
● Lesson plans based on the Literacy Work Station Systems and kits
● Reports on assessment data
● Reports on intervention strategies
● Parent training presentation materials
● All content and pedagogy
How work will be performed
● Consultants will provide professional development workshops on: Team Building, Analyzing Data, Next
Steps with Data, How to Start and Maintain Professional Learning Communities, Curriculum Pacing, and
Lesson Planning.
● If learning is still hybrid, consultants will provide professional development on best practices for teaching the hybrid model.
● If combo classes are still necessary, consultants will provide professional development on best practices for teaching combination classes.
● Job embedded coaching will support teachers by using the student-centered coaching cycle to help the teacher determine what the students need and develop a plan. During the lessons, consultants can model, co-teach, or give feedback on a lesson the teacher executes depending on the plan the teacher and consultant have developed together.
● Consultants will regularly meet with the site leadership team to ensure that the school’s vision is being met, plans are being used to guide leadership and instruction, and that the coaching cycle is targeting the right teachers. Evaluation Metrics
● Assessments: BIE and school created formative and summative assessments.
● Surveys: End of training survey questions and/or exit tickets to show teachers understanding of the
PD.
● Student Artifact: Consultants will work with teachers to gather student artifacts at the beginning and end of teacher and consultants’ work together in a coaching cycle.
When Work will be Performed
● Professional Development Workshops for Back to School in August 2022 and continue throughout the school year dates for services are to be coordinated with the school
