The scope of this project is to replace a section of 4” sanitary sewer line for the bathroom of RDG ATCT. The 4” sanitary line will need to be replaced in the wet wall in the base building of the ATCT and then extend a new 4” cast iron pipe installed exterior to the building, below grade to the sewage lift station in the parking lot.

In order to install the new sanitary pipe, the contactor will need to demolish the floor tile in the Men’s Bathroom; saw cut and demolish a section of the floor slab in the Men’s Bathroom, demolish a section of the tiled wet wall in the Men’s Bathroom; core drill a new 6” hole in the foundation wall of the ATCT Base Building; excavate to the sewage lift station (core drilling a new hole into the lift station).

After installation of the replacement sanitary main, the concrete floor in the Men’s Bathroom shall be replaced and the wet wall in the bathroom shall be repaired. Provide a new ceramic tile floor and install new wall tile in the Men’s Room. Reinstall the existing toilet and the existing urinal and sink. Provide new gaskets, wax seals and other hardware to reinstall the fixtures.

Drawings:

Interior Work Men’s Bathroom- Remove the toilet, urinal and sink. Demolish the floor tile and the bottom two feet of wall along the wet wall in the bathroom. Saw Cut and demolish approximately 2 feet of the concrete slab in the bathroom to access the below grade sanitary line.

Excavate the soil to expose and demolish the existing sanitary main located below the slab. Take precautions when demolishing concrete slab in the Men’s Bathroom to not disturb tile finishes in the adjacent Women’s Bathroom.

Replace the cast iron main below the slab to pitch the pipe toward the sewage lift station. Use 4 inch extra heavy cast iron pipe and fittings. The main shall use bell and spigot pipe and fittings.

The pipe above slab shall use no-hub type fittings. Replace the entire below slab sanitary main in the wet wall and connect all existing branch pipes for toilets, sinks urinals and vents. Connect to existing main adjacent to the wet wall. Replace the cast iron pipe and fitting for drain at the urinal in its entirety.

After all piping is connected and tested. Backfill the excavated area. Provide # 4 rebar doweled into the remaining slab in the Men’s Room (12” o.c.) to a depth of 8 inches. Patch the existing slab to match existing thickness. Demolish all existing floor tile in the Men’s bathroom and prepare the surface for a new tile floor. Install a new tile floor (tile and color to be selected by the FAA) with thin set adhesive as per manufacturer’s recommendations. Grout the new floor tile. Clean the new floor tile and seal new grout joints.

Patch the wall with new tile backer board. Install the tile concrete backer board, tile and grout to repair the wall. Install new 6” white floor base molding around the perimeter of the Men’s Room, use construction adhesive and countersunk screws to attach to wall tile. Patch and paint new floor molding. Reinstall the toilet and the new urinal. Reinstall the sink.

Exterior Work- Prior to work the contactor shall call for a utility mark out to be performed.

Hand excavate to locate the existing gas main. Hand dig to provide an excavation adjacent the ATCT Base Building to core drill a 6” hole in the existing foundation wall to allow the installation of the new 4” cast iron sanitary main. Install new 4” pipe as shown (pitch a ¼” per foot min to the lift station). Provide a new cast iron clean out with brass cap in the pavement, as shown, for the end of the new main. Core drill a new hole in the sanitary lift station at the proper elevation. Saw cut the existing asphalt pavement to accommodate the excavation for the new pipe. Patch parking lot with plant mix asphalt to match existing asphalt thickness. Re stripe parking lot marking. Protect curb (replace if required). Restore grounds to match existing conditions.
