Power Rectifier Description

The rectifier provided will be used in Fiber Optic Transmission System (FOTS) and must meet the following FAA requirements.

1. Provide -48Vdc to Channel Banks (CB) and Add-Drop Multiplexers (ADM)

2. Comply with FAA-G-2100H attached for inrush current, harmonics, ripple, and power factor requirements

3. Carry the maximum load as specified by the manufacture

4. Have the ability to configure the system settings

5. Report alarms for AC failure, battery on discharge, tripped fuses and flipped battery breaker

6. Support remote battery testing

7. Be equipped with a Low Voltage Battery Disconnect (LVBD)

8. Perform load sharing when multiple rectifier modules are present

FAA has already performed testing for various power rectifiers and Eltek Flatpack S-Intrepid

Series Power System (1800W Model) has been approved to meet all the specifications required.

An equal may be provided but the vendor has to supply detailed specifications to enable FAA’s thorough review. Vendors that provide an equal without complete and detailed specifications will be considered unresponsive and hence eliminated automatically without further correspondence.
