Simulator minimum requirements:

Heavy-duty Truck/Trailer Training

- Full Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) tractor functionality o Air brake system o Air ride seat with ability to adjust positions for driver o Seat belt o Air system test function (as outlined in Commercial driver’s license (CDL) manual) o Steering o Ignition switch o Accelerator, brake and clutch pedals o Turn signals o Instrument Cluster (speedometer, tachometer, fuel, air 1 and 2, etc.)

o Interchangeable driving positions o Motion system feel/feedback o Realistic 200+ degree field of view o Fuel gauge o Oil Pressure Gauge o Temp Gauge o Volt Gauge o Headlight Switch (Hi/Lo beams capable) o Horn o Tractor air supply button o Trailer air supply button o Jake brake lever/switch o ABS system light (ability to alter during evaluation)

- Backing program o Ability to straight-line back o Ability to offset back left/right o Ability to alley dock left/right o Ability to parallel park (conventional and site side)

Backing in open and confined areas with the ability to include obstacles (other trailers, between trailers, light poles)

- Full range shifting simulation for 9, 10, 13 and 18 speed transmissions (Hi/Lo range selector) o Ability to double clutch for both up shifting and downshifting o Feedback on missed shifts, quick shifts, clutch pedal position o Feedback on shifting on incline, decline, in turns/curves o Feedback on engine stall

- Automatic transmission capable

- Steering feedback o Resistance on turns o Tire blowout

- Rollover prevention

Attachment 1 - Minimum Requirements

- Full range of weather related conditions o Effects road conditions o Effect atmosphere conditions (example: whiteout snow squalls, downpours)

- Program to simulate fatigue o Drugs, alcohol

- Include Road Rage, excessive speed and tight space management

- Hazard Recognition (intersections, low bridges, animals/wild life, High center of gravity, road signs)

- Required environments for CDL o Urban o Suburban o Rural o Highway

- Scenario Developer o Instructor is able to create customized training for situation.
