Demolition: See "general electrical demolition notes" sheet e.001 for demolition requirements.

Coordination: Coordinate and cooperate with all trades on the project.

Record Drawings: Secure an extra set of electrical drawings to be kept on-site and mark, daily, the drawings in red as the project progresses to keep an accurate record of all deviations between the work shown on the drawings and the work installed. These marked drawings shall reflect all changes and revisions to the original design in the completed work.

Deliver the marked drawings to the Engineer at project close-out.

Tests: Test all wiring for continuity and grounds before connecting any fixtures or devices. Perform insulation resistance tests on all wiring #8 or larger to ensure that all portions are free from short-circuits and grounds.

Inspections: Arrange all necessary inspections. Deliver all required inspection certificates to the owner.

Grounding: Provide grounding per National Electrical Code (N.E.C.) for the electrical system, including equipment frames conduits, switches, controllers, wire-ways, neutral conductors, and other Equipment. Provide a grounding conductor in all power circuits.

Labels: Provide labels for all panel boards, cabinets, safety switches, motor-disconnect switches, and motor controllers. Labels shall be machine engraved, laminated plastic, permanently attached with self-tapping screws or rivets. Do not use self-adhesive labels.

Motor Disconnects: All motors shall have disconnecting means.

Lighting Arrangement: Arrange lighting fixtures per the plans.

Material Coordination: Verify ceiling and wall construction and material before ordering light fixtures or other devices to ensure proper fixtures or device meets the requirements.

Mounting Heights: Mounting heights indicated are from the finished floor to the top of the wiring device unless otherwise noted. Mounting heights of lighting fixtures are to the bottom of the fixture or device unless otherwise noted.

Device Coordination: Thoroughly review and coordinate all casework, door swings, and elevations with device locations before rough-in of outlet boxes.

B. General Electrical Demolition Notes

General: Demolition is based on the field investigation. Visit the existing building before bid to become familiar with the current conditions and to avoid conflicts.

Existing Circuits: Existing circuits shall be removed.

Existing Conduit: Existing conduit shall be removed.

Repair damage: Exercise care in the removal of demolition items. Repair, at no additional cost to the owner, any damage caused to existing construction and equipment to remain.

Demolished Materials: All materials removed under demolition shall become the property of the contractor and shall remove from the site.

Notification: Notify the owner before turning off any circuits.

C. Electrical Specifications

1. Electrical drawings are diagrammatic. They are intended to show the approximate locations of equipment and conduit. Dimensions given on the plans, in figures, shall take precedence over scaled dimensions and shall be verified in the field. The electrical contractor shall layout all equipment rooms to ensure the equipment, as purchased, fits in the room or space shown and has all clearances required by the N.E.C. Exact location of all equipment shall be verified in the field, and routing of conduits shall suit the field conditions.

2. The electrical drawings and specifications are intended to supplement each other. Material and labor necessary to the project shall be furnished and installed even though not explicitly mentioned in both. Labor and materials neither shown nor specified, but essential for the completion and proper functioning of the system shall be furnished and installed by the electrical contractor.

3. Arrange all equipment substantially as shown on the drawings. Make deviations only where necessary to avoid interference. Check all equipment sizes against available space before shipment to prevent interference.

4. Examine the work of other trades insofar as their work comes in contact with or is covered by this work. In no case attach to, or finish against any defective work or install work in a manner which will prevent proper installation of the work of other trades.

5. These drawings intend to be a complete electrical job; any errors or omissions shall be brought to the Engineer's attention before bidding the job.
