About this file

This brand name justification document from the Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Information Management Technology specifies requirements for Fortigate Lan2Lan routers to securely connect to the agency's MPLS WAN. The procurement is limited to a specific use case and DOI does not have any other approved solution. As the only option for this type of lan2lan connection and FISMA system component, the brand name purchase from available ISBEE resellers is justified. The contracting officer determines the anticipated price to be fair and reasonable based on past purchases. Market research found several qualified small business vendors. The requirement will be posted as a small business set-aside under solicitation number 140A1624Q0010. Efforts are described to ensure future competition by evaluating alternative hardware annually.
