· Terrestrial Tank Mix: Clopyralid (Transline or equivalent) at 16 ounces/acre (0.374 lb A.E./acre) + surfactant (Rate as specified on label and compatible with herbicide) + Dye.

· Aquatic Mix: Aquatically approved 2,4-D (Alligare 2,4-D or equivalent) at 64 ounces/acre (1.9 lb ae/acre) + Aquatically approved surfactant (Rate as specified on label and compatible with herbicide) + Dye.

Quote must include both tank mixes. Only one terrestrial tank mix will be selected and funded, based on price and Government application needs.

11. Remarks and Other Requirements: Apply the spray solution in properly maintained and calibrated equipment capable of delivering the desired volume. Controlling drift is the responsibility of the Applicator.

The Sheep Creek weed herbicide treatment area consists of hills, mountain slopes, fan remnants, and several drainages which hold intermittent flowing streams. Terrain is overall very hilly and steep, with mountain slopes ranging from 15-60%. Soil type is a clay loam that varies from shallow to moderately drained. Elevation ranges from 5000 to 6500 feet. Vegetation consists of sparse patches of Wyoming Sagebrush, mixed perennial bunchgrasses, and native forbs. Annual invasive grasses such as cheatgrass and several annual invasive mustards are the dominate vegetation for much of the project area. A single two track road runs through the middle of the project area but other than that access is limited. More remote and steep areas will necessitate backpack spraying. Several drainages which hold intermittent flowing streams are present throughout the project area. If water is present during the time of application, the buffers for non-aquatically formulated herbicides will be maintained at 10 feet for application by handgun and 25 feet for application with boom equipment. Spraying up to the water’s edge (within the buffer) will require use of aquatic formulated herbicide and surfactant.
