Statement of Work for Installation of Additional Security Fence Surrounding Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR Operations and Maintenance Facilities
Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide the necessary personnel, parts, and labor to install approximately 1,800 linear feet of new security fence and remove approximately 750 feet of existing and unnecessary fence. The contractor shall provide three (3) manual gates for vehicle access described further.
Period of Performance: Begin work within 10 working days after date of receipt of Award, and complete all work within 60 calendar days from receipt of such notice.
Security Fence:
• Prior to construction, contactor will stake corners of security fence for approval by
FWS.
• Security fence shall consist of six (6) foot high galvanized steel chainlink plus 1 (barbed wire). Minimum nine (9) gauge and two (2) inch chain link shall be used. There is no minimum requirement for barbed wire, but lines shall be taught and property secured.
• Security fence shall include top rail and appropriate span and corner bracing.
• Security fence shall include protection at drainage ditch exit located along the north side.
• Security fence shall not have gaps greater than one (1) inch at ground level.
• Security fence posts shall a minimum of 2 & 7/8” and 40 gauge. Security fence posts shall be set at (3) feet depth with concrete at each post.
Vehicle Gates:
Gate Type: Standard swing gates at all locations.
All require appropriate locking posts and center posts for security.
• All gates shall consist of six (6) foot high galvanized steel chain link plus 1 (barbed wire). Minimum nine (9) gauge and two (2) inch chain link shall be used. There is no minimum requirement for barbed wire, but lines shall be taught and property secured.
o Gate 1 is located near the southwest corner and will be thirty (30) feet wide.
o Gate 2 is located near the southeast corner and will be fifty (50) feet wide.
o Gate 3 is located on the north to provide access to materials yard and will be twenty (20) feet wide.
• Gate posts shall be a minimum of 4” and 40 gauge. Gate posts shall be set at (4) feet with concrete at each post.
• All swing gates shall have locking posts set at (3) feet with concrete at each post.
General conditions:
• Contractor is responsible for obtaining utility locates prior to construction.
• Demolished fence and all metal debris resulting from this project shall be recycled by the contractor.
• Contractor shall provide information on warranty of all products.
