Statement of Work Celigo Cytometer Imaging System

BACKGROUND:

The Childhood Complex Disease Genomics Section at NHGRI focusses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that lead to the formation of complex pediatric diseases such as severe undernutrition, sickle cell disease, and Childhood-onset essential hypertension by identifying genes and understanding biological pathways. The invitro studies at The CCDGS will help evaluate various biological phenomena and pathways in specific cells. The CCDGS through its cell-based assays using disorder / disease-relevant cells can provide insight in better understanding cellular physiology, metabolic pathway and DNA methylation studies. Celigo is a plate-based benchtop brightfield and fluorescent imaging system designed for whole-well live-cell analysis and cell sample characterization. The excellent cell segmentation abilities of the Celigo are unmatched.

Purpose and Objectives:

To acquire a high throughput image cytometer system such as the Celigo Device for research at the Childhood Complex Disease Genomics Section. The Celigo platform is a unique, scalable technology that enables direct, real-time analysis of cells in various types of vessels including 6 – 1536 well plates, T25, T75 flasks and glass slides without disturbing their natural state. This Image Cytometer offers best-in-class bright field imaging capabilities with 4 channels of fluorescent imaging. It is ideal for multiplexed assays and provides high-speed, fully automated imaging and quantification of suspension, adherent, tumor spheroids and iPSC. The system images every cell in every well, without any well edge effect. The Celigo advanced live cell analysis systems can provide necessary and unique insights into invitro cell-based assays.

Procurement:

3. The Contractor shall ensure Celigo Imaging Cytometer shall include LED-based brightfield imaging.

4. The Contractor shall ensure Celigo Imaging Cytometer shall include the workstation.

5. The Contractor shall supply training and a Field Application Specialist to work with staff to validate all scripts.

Assumptions:

Purchase of this cytometer and included software will include free software updates as needed in the future.

Government Property:

No government furnished property will be supplied to the contractor.

Delivery Location:

Hanchard Lab Childhood Complex Disease Genomics Section (CCDGS)/ NHGRI/NIH

BG 50 RM 5232

South Drive, Bethesda MD 20892 Security Requirements:

· The Contractor’s installer and FAS will adhere to building access security policy.

· The Contractor shall provide proper ID upon entry to the building and a badge supplied by NIH security must be worn at all times.

· The contractor’s installer and FAS will be escorted from the entry desk to the lab by a Lab member.

NIH Facility Access Requirements due to COVID-19:

The Contractor should follow required safety protocols consistent with their vaccination status while accessing the facility. For a NIH owned facilities and some NIH leased facilities, maintenance, and other short duration contractor personnel (non-transient services) will be treated as visitors. Visitors will attest to vaccination or show proof of negative testing within the previous 72 hours when they are processed through NIH visitor entrances and should follow required workplace safety protocols consistent with their vaccination status while accessing a Federal facility. All Contractors and their contractor personnel that will be processed as visitors to NIH facilities should be familiar with the NIH Visitor Guidance and must follow the safety requirements as outlined in the NIH Safety Guidance in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) COVID-19 Community Levels (link is external) in effect at the time of facility access. NIH Visitor and safety guidance are subject to change and should be reviewed frequently for updates.

See Facility Access Table Below Appendix A: Facility Access Procedures Table

Contractor
Facility Access Procedures
Onsite contractor personnel
The Contractor shall handle all logistics of complying with NIH facility access requirements. Responsibility remains with the Contractor for compliance of their personnel and appropriately ties that compliance to contract performance (typically these contractor personnel will have PIV cards). See NIH Facility Access Plan for Contractors.
Transient Visitors (delivery drivers, couriers, U.S. Postal Service personnel, Federal Express personnel, United Parcel Service personnel, and other visitors accessing a federal facility for less than approximately 15 minutes and who interact with very few people.
Not required to follow visitor procedures or provide certification of their compliance to the CO/COR/Purchase Agent as a condition of entry, even when the local COVID-19 Community Level in the county where the Federal facility is located is MEDIUM or HIGH. They should be required to follow required safety protocols consistent with their vaccination status while accessing the facility.
Short Duration contractor personnel accessing Federal owned buildings and NIH leased facilities with visitor access control (services that are longer than transient as defined above. These are generally services that do not require issuance of an NIH badge or PIV card)
Short duration contractor personnel (non-transient services) will be treated as visitors for Federal Owned buildings and some NIH leased facilities. Visitors will attest to vaccination or show proof of negative testing within the previous 72 hours when they are processed through NIH campus visitor entrances and should follow required workplace safety protocols consistent with their vaccination status while accessing a federal facility.
Short Duration contractor personnel accessing Federal leased buildings without facility access control (services that are longer than transient as defined above. These are generally services that do not require issuance of an NIH badge or PIV card)
Short duration contractor personnel (non-transient services) for Federal leased buildings without visitor access control shall certify the compliance of their contractor personnel to their COR and CO, Buyer, or Purchase Card Holder. Unlike at NIH owned facilities, security guards in NIH leased facilities will not be processing NIH visitors at the building entrances.
