About this file

This statement of work outlines maintenance requirements for a 42-foot aluminum crew boat owned by Cumberland Islands National Seashore. Key tasks include hauling the vessel from the water, pressure washing and painting the hull below the waterline, servicing both main engines and the generator, replacing zincs, inspecting sea valves and other components, repairing hand rail welds, and recertifying the life raft. Additional details specify engine models, paint specifications, a three-week estimated completion window, and delivery of the vessel upon bid acceptance. The government will perform inspections during the work and consider distance to the contractor's facility as a evaluation factor due to associated transportation and oversight costs.

Special Considerations:

• The government will be performing inspections as work progresses. Due to transportation and inspection time/costs, distance from the park will be considered among other factors during the evaluation process of this action. The further the distance, the more costly/inconvenient it will be for the government so distance may be a contributing factor when determining best value.

• Any stated manufacturer or brands are for reference only. Any items/materials meeting or exceeding those characteristics must be submitted for approval for use.

• The vessel will be delivered by water upon acceptance of bid and availability to perform repairs/service.

• Vessel weighs approximately 30,000 lbs.

• Use 15w40HD diesel oil in engines and generator.

• Use Delo 400 40wt fluid in the transmissions.

• Paint colors to match existing.

• Work should be scheduled to be completed within a 3-week period. Vessel is to be operated once it has been placed back in the water to ensure proper operation.
