Text version

1. Is an alternate route going to be required?

There is no need for an alternate route.

2. What material is being requested for the culverts?

Standard D.O.T. Galvanized Metal Culverts

3. Are the 8” curbs on the concrete crossing going to be repaired or is it just the pad?

The curbs are not required to be repaired.

4. Are the plants surrounding the site going to be removed, and if so, is the contractor responsible for doing so?

Any plants that the contractor deems necessary to remove are his responsibility.

5. Will the culvert be supported by the concrete forms built around the culverts at either end or will there need to be additional steel supports prior to pouring the concrete and filling the void completely underneath the existing crossing?

The main part of the project is to fill in the area around the culverts with concrete that’s tied into the existing concrete crossing with rebar down to the base of the existing crossing.

6. Is the contractor responsible for pumping out the water below the crossing or will that be provided?

The SOW states "Remove sediment under crossing down to the base of the existing crossing." We do not have the specific depth but you have to remove the sediment down to the base of that existing concrete on each side of the ditch.
