CONCRETE APRON REPAIR, MCGUIRE - LAKEHURST,

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, NEW JERSEY

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

1. QUESTION: During the Site Visit a statement was made that when a parking area becomes available, 20 to 30 blocks would be designated for replacement; is this accurate?

1. ANSWER: YES, AND POSSIBLY MORE. BUT CONTRACTOR SHALL BE PREPARED FOR SMALL CALL

WORK AS NEEDED AT LAKEHURST OR MCGUIRE.

2. QUESTION: Will the Government please provide the following information:

a. Details for Keyways and Doweling

b. Size/dimensions for Dowels

2. ANSWER: NO, CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE CONCRETE PANELS AS BUILT. KEYWAYS AND

DOWELS WILL BE IDENTIFIED UPON CONCRETE DEMOLITION.

3. QUESTION: Will the Government please provide the following information:

a. Size of concrete slabs/”blocks” on Tarmac

b. Number of slabs/”blocks” that make up a Parking Area

3. ANSWER: CONCRETE SLABS/”BLOCKS” ARE TYPICALLY 20’ BY 25’ BUT SMALLER ONES CAN BE ENCOUNTERED AROUND DRAINAGE, OR HYDRANT STRUCTURES, OR IN TAXILANES. THE PANELS IN A

PARKING SPOT RANGE FROM 100 TO 160 DEPENDING ON THE AREA.

4. QUESTION: This Solicitation is a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract; is the Contractor guaranteed the FFP of this contract?

4. ANSWER: Yes, this contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract.

5. QUESTION: The Solicitation states that “The Contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days…”

a. Is there work to be performed immediately upon award?

b. Will the current contractor’s work be completed prior to mobilization/implementation of this contract?

5. ANSWER: YES, NO

6. QUESTION: The Solicitation calls for Performance/Payment Bonds; is a Bid Bond required?

6. ANSWER: A Bid Guarantee is required, per clause 52.228-1 Bid Guarantee – “The Bid Guarantee amount shall be at least 20 percent of the bid price but shall not exceed $3 million, which ever is less.”

7. QUESTION: If dowels around the concrete slab are required, are they to be priced within the concrete slab repair line item for CY of concrete, or will they have their own line item in the bid schedule?

7. ANSWER: No additional line items will be added to the bid schedule. Include all necessary work in the existing line items.

8. QUESTION: Please advise what the weighted evaluation value of the past performance questionnaires to the bid review process and their contribution toward the award of the contract.

8: ANSWER: Please reference Sections L and M of the solicitation document for evaluation information.

SITE VISIT WAS CONDUCTED ON 18 Apr 2017 @ 1000.
