AG‐9AB5‐S‐16‐0001

Building Demolition, Los Padres National Forest Service

Questions and comments during the May 5, 2016 Building 415 & Hazmat Container contractor’s meeting.

1. What do we do with the electric and water connections?

a. Cap them.

2. How do we deal with the hazmat abatement?

a. It’s up to the contractor. Some will use subcontractors with expertise in hazmat.

3. How much water can we get from the government?

a. In the Specifications, it says 5,000 gallons. Any more needs to be trucked in at the contractor’s expense.

4. Can anyone do test pits to find out how deep the footings go?

a. The government will investigate this.

5. What about endangered species?

a. There should not be any endangered species in or around this project.

6. To what extent do we (the contractors) need to do site restoration?

a. Per the specs, level the ground. The government will investigate any importing of soils.

7. How deep is the foundation?

a. It’s estimated to be 24” deep. No other information is currently available.

8. What about the Better Management Plan? Is there one? How about erosion control?

a. The government will check on this. Erosion: as the project is on level ground, with the surrounding environment level, this is not a major concern.

9. What is the timeline to complete the project?

a. 60 days.

10. Will the hazmat building require a permit to remove?

a. This is in the specs and it is up to the contractor to acquire permits and adhere to local, state and federal regulations regarding the matter.
