Solicitation #:AG-91U4-S-13-0003 Project: CNF Palomar RD Goat Grazing
Q & A
1. Can they use Supplemental Feed for the animals?
Answer: Yes- It needs to be certified weed free feed (if available). Per our District Range Land Manager….that is not available in the project area and as long as the feed is from San Diego, Riverside or the Imperial Valley area it will be fine to use. The concern is Star Thistle.
2. Water Source
Answer: Water is available at the San Vicente Forest Service Fire Station located within 1 mile of the project area.
3. Is camping available and access points?
Answer: Yes camping is and option in the project area (absolutely no campfires or open fire burning is allowed on the Forest) These areas and project access points will be identified/designated on a map and at the pre-work meeting.
4. Are guard dogs allowed?
Answer: Yes
5. Can they use ATV’s within the project area?
Answer: Yes as long as they do not create trails and have the proper spark arrester.
6. Will we/can we temporarily close the area to horse access?
Answer: Yes
7. Will the project boundary be flagged?
Answer: Yes the project will be flagged along the Forest Boundary adjacent to the Private property.
8. What happens if they start the project and it gets canceled? How will you base the payment from that point?
Answer: Refer to FAR 52.212-4 under Termination.
9. Do we have an identified evacuation location for the animals in the event of a wildfire?
Answer: We will identify that at the pre work, but we will have options.
