Scope of Contract
The work is comprised of, but not limited to, providing all required labor, equipment, supplies and materials to demolish and remove the existing narrow concrete sidewalks and toilet buildings, remove existing parking barriers, benches, trash receptacles, apply elastomeric joint sealer in remaining sidewalks, construct new concrete sidewalks and pavilion pad, install one pavilion, benches, trash receptacles and picnic facilities. Work shall also include removal of the shingle roofs on the existing 4 pavilions, and shake roof on the information kiosk and supplying installing metal shingles and metal facia on all five pavilions and kiosk.

Work under this contract is located at Aldo Leopold Vista, Grant County, New Mexico approximately
50 miles west of Silver City, NM on Hwy 180.

SUMMARY OF WORK AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 SUMMARY
A. Description of Work: The work is comprised of, but not necessarily limited to, furnishing labor, equipment, supplies and materials to demolish and remove the existing narrow concrete sidewalks and toilet buildings, remove existing parking barriers, benches, trash receptacles, apply elastomeric joint sealer in remaining sidewalks, construct new concrete sidewalks and pavilion pad, install one pavilion, benches, trash receptacles and picnic facilities. Work shall also include removal of the shingle roofs on the existing 4 pavilions, and shake roof on the information kiosk and supplying installing metal shingles and metal facia on all five pavilions and kiosk.
B. Location: Work under this contract is located at Aldo Leopold Vista, Grant County, New Mexico approximately 50 miles west of Silver City, NM on Hwy 180.

1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Code and Standards: The work shall comply with codes and standards applicable to each type of work and as listed in the individual sections of these specifications. This Contract incorporates materials, applications, and tests by reference, with the same force and effect as if they were given in full text.
B. Conflict: Where a conflict occurs between reference documents and project specifications, the project specifications shall govern.
C. Measurements: Where approved manufacturers‘ diagrams and shop drawings give specific measurements or rough-in dimensions for equipment, these dimensions shall take precedence over dimensions indicated on the drawings.
1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Delivery: The Contractor shall protect products, incorporated into the work, from damage while in transit to the site. Products must be delivered in original unopened containers with manufacturers‘ name and brand designation and contents legibly indicated. The containers shall bear the referenced specification number, type and class as applicable.
B. Storage: The Contractor shall provide temporary storage facilities for products complying with manufacturers‘ recommendations that will protect them from damage until installation of the project and final acceptance. The storage area shall permit access for inspection and handling.
C. Handling: The Contractor shall load and unload products in such manner that protects them from damage until installation on the project.
1.05 PROJECT/SITE CONDITIONS
A. Access to the Work: Contractor shall coordinate with the Government for all access to the site.
1.06 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A. Requirements: The Contractor shall be responsible for operations necessary to complete the work, including coordination with other crafts relative to the contractor‘s requirements. Work shall be scheduled in such a manner as to avoid delays in overall construction and permit proper installation of work.
1.07 MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
A. The organization of these specifications into Divisions, Sections and Articles, and the arrangement of the drawings, shall not control the Contractor in dividing the work among subcontractors or in establishing the extent of work to be performed by any trade.
B. Field verification of scale dimensions is required since actual locations, distances, and levels will be governed by actual field conditions.
1.08 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE AND PROGRESS CHARTS:
A. Within 10 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall prepare and submit to the
Contracting Officer‘s Representative for approval a practicable progress schedule. The schedule shall show the order in which the Contractor proposes to carry on the work, the date of which he will start the several major activities (including procurement of materials, plants, and equipment), and the contemplated dates for completing same. The schedule shall be in the form of a progress chart of suitable scale to indicate graphically the percentages of work scheduled for completion at any time. As the Work progresses, the Contractor shall enter on the chart the actual progress at the end of each partial payment period or at such intervals as directed by the COR. The Contractor shall also revise the schedule to reflect any adjustments in contract time approved by the COR. Three copies of the updated schedule shall be delivered at such intervals as directed by the COR.
1.09 CUTTING AND PATCHING: In addition to the requirements of the General Conditions, Contractor shall perform all cutting and patching required to remove and replace work not conforming to the requirements of the Contract
Documents, to uncover ill-timed work for inspection, to replace defective work, to make parts fit properly, etc., and shall:
A. Perform all cutting and patching in strict accordance with pertinent requirements of these Specifications and, in the event no such requirements are determined, in conformance with the COR‘s written direction.
B. Prior to cutting which affects structural safety, submit written request to the COR for permission to proceed with cutting.
C. Prior to cutting and patching performed pursuant to the COR‘s instructions, submit cost estimate to the
COR. Secure the COR‘s approval of cost estimates and type of cost reimbursement before proceeding with cutting and patching.
D. Submit written notice to the COR designating time the work will be uncovered, to provide for the COR‘s observation.
E. Perform all other cutting and patching needed to comply with the Contract Documents at no additional cost to the Government.
1.10 RECORD DRAWINGS: In accordance with the requirements of the General Conditions, the COR will provide the contractor with a set of reproducible drawings to the original bidding documents, as required and at contractor‘s expense, as follows:
A. If the Contractor elects to vary from the Contract Documents, and secures prior approval of the COR, for any phase of the work other than those listed below, he shall record in a neat readable manner all such variances on the reproducible drawings furnished.
B. The following requirements apply to all Record Drawings.
1. They shall be maintained at the Contractor‘s expense.
2. All such drawings shall be done carefully and neatly by a competent draftsman and inform approved by the COR.
3. Additional drawings shall be provided as necessary for clarification.
4. They shall be kept up-to-date during the entire course of the work and shall be available on request for examination by the COR and, when necessary, to establish clearances for other parts of the work.
5. The Record Drawings shall be returned to the COR on completion of the work and are subject to the approval of the COR.
1.14 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS: Submit three copies of Operation and Maintenance Manual to the COR prior to indoctrination of operation and maintenance personnel. Include at least the following:
A. Neatly typewritten index near the front of the Manual, giving immediate information as to location within the Manual of all emergency data regarding installation.
B. Complete instructions regarding operation and maintenance of all equipment involved, including lubrication, disassembly, and re-assembly.
C. Complete nomenclature of all parts of all equipment.
D. Complete nomenclature and part number of all replaceable parts, name and address of nearest vendor, and all other pertinent data regarding procurement procedure.
E. Electrostatic copy of all guarantees and warranties issued.
F. Manufacturers' bulletins, cuts, and descriptive data, where pertinent, clearly indicating the precise items included in this installation and deleting, or otherwise clearly indicating, all manufacturers' data with which this installation is not concerned.
G. Such other data as required in pertinent other Sections of these Specifications.
1.15 TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICES: The Contractor shall provide the following specific items of temporary construction and services:
A. Temporary Water:
1. Water is not available at the site but may be obtained at the Glenwood District office approximately 15 miles from the construction site.
B. Temporary Electric Service:
1. Electricity is not available at the site.
C. Contractor may use existing toilet facilities. Contractor shall maintain facilities in a clean and neat condition.
D. Temporary Closures: Contractor shall erect temporary closures over openings when weather conditions render such action necessary for proper installation of any portion of the work.
E. Protection of Work in Place: Work in place that is subject to injury because of operations carried on adjacent thereto shall be covered, boarded up or substantially enclosed with adequate protection. All forms of protection shall be constructed in such manner that on completion the entire work will be delivered to the Government in unblemished condition.
F. Temporary Fire Protection: Contractor shall provide and maintain fire extinguishers and other equipment necessary for fire protection during construction. Such equipment shall be used for fire protection only.
G. Signs: No signs will be permitted on the Project except the project sign, identifying captions over offices, certain directional and warning signs required for safety and protection. Contractor shall take all necessary steps to prevent installation of any unauthorized signs, and, should any appear, cause them to be removed immediately, and repair and repaint any damage caused thereby without additional cost to the Government.
H. Temporary Buildings: All temporary buildings shall be maintained in a neat orderly appearance for the duration of the Work.
I. Removal of Temporary Construction: Temporary office facilities, toilets, storage sheds, and other construction of a temporary nature shall be removed from the site as soon as the progress of the Work will permit; and the portions of the site occupied by the same shall be properly restored.
J. Plumbing and Drainage: Surface or subsurface water or other fluids shall not be permitted to accumulate in excavations or in and about the premises. Should such conditions be encountered or develop, the fluid shall be controlled and suitably disposed of by means of temporary pumps, piping drainage lines, troughs, ditches, dams or other methods.
1.16 CLEANING UP: In addition to other provisions of the Specifications, the following shall be required:
A. Besides the ―removal of waste materials,‖ the following special cleaning shall be required just prior to acceptance.
1. Remove foreign matter, marks, stains, foreign paint, fingerprints, soil and dirt from (and have in a polished condition where applicable) the following:
a. Painted, decorated and stained Work.
b. All hardware, fixtures and incorporated equipment.
c. All finished surfaces and metal surfaces, whether interior or exterior.
d. All doors and windows.
B. Use only the cleaning materials and equipment, which are compatible with the surface being cleaned, as recommended by the manufacturer of the material or as approved by the COR.
C. In addition to the clean-up provisions of the Specifications, the Contractor shall take appropriate steps to prevent airborne dust due to the Work of the Contract. Water shall be applied wherever practical to settle and hold dust to a minimum, particularly during excavation and moving of materials.
1.17 EXAMINATION OF SITE
A. Bidders are requested to visit the site, compare the drawings and specifications with any work in place, and inform themselves of all conditions, including other work, if any, being performed. Failure to visit sites will in no way relieve the successful bidder from necessity of furnishing any materials or performing any work that may be required to complete work in accordance with drawings and specifications, without additional cost to the Government.
B. Information respecting the site of the work given in drawings or specification is believed to be reasonably correct, but the Government does not warrant either the completeness of accuracy of such information, and it is the responsibility of the contractor to verify all such information independently and to make such other examination of the conditions to be encountered during construction.
C. The Contractor acknowledges that he has investigated and satisfied himself as to the conditions affecting the work, including, but not restricted to, those bearing upon transportation, disposal, handling and storage of materials, availability of labor, water, electric power, roads and uncertainties and conditions of the ground, the character of equipment and facilities needed preliminary to and during prosecution of the work.
The Contractor further acknowledges that he has satisfied himself to the character, quality, and quantity of surface and subsurface materials or obstacles to be encountered insofar as this information is reasonably ascertainable from an inspection of the sites. Any failure by the Contractor to acquaint himself with the available information will not relieve him from responsibility for estimating properly the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. The Government assumes no responsibility for any conclusions or interpretations made by the Contractor on the basis of the information made available by the COR.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 GENERAL
A. Pavilion
1. Shelter shall be 16 feet in diameter, 8 feet high with a 5:12 slope.
2. Structural Glue laminated wood components shall conform to the manufacturing requirements of the American Institute of Timber Construction Standards and Standard Specifications for Glue
Laminated Timber, AITC 117.
3. Adhesives shall be wet-use (waterproof) complying with ANSI/AITCA 190.1 – latest edition.
4. Steel connections and columns shall be shot blasted and TGIC powder coated with a standard brown color.
5. Roof deck shall be 2x6 tongue and groove with V- joint bottom face, kiln-dried southern yellow pine.
6. Facia shall be 2x6 southern yellow pine
7. Structure system shall be able to withstand 100 mph winds and dead load of 30 psf.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION
A. Any monuments or benchmarks disturbed or removed during construction shall be reset by the Contractor at the Contractor‘s expense.
3.02 PROTECTION
A. Damage: Repair of damage to new construction and equipment or existing utilities resulting from construction procedures, shall not be initiated prior to notification of the COR.

B. Right-of-Way: Existing utility lines shall have the right-of-way over all other lines, and all lines encountered by the Contractor shall be carefully maintained in proper alignment. Should the Contractor find that the grades of new utility lines intersect existing utility lines, he shall stop the laying of the new lines until new grades are established.
C. Repairs: The Contractor shall repair damages to any new or existing active utility above or below ground, whether indicated on the drawings or not and immediately report such damage to the COR. All costs of repair for damages due to the Contractor‘s negligence will be paid by the Contractor.
3.03 GRADES, LINES AND LEVELS
A. Before starting work, the Contractor shall locate all general reference points and take such steps as are necessary to prevent their dislocations. If disturbed, the Contractor shall replace.
3.04 INSTALLATION OF FIXTURES
A. Pavilion
1. Installation in accordance with the manufacturers‘ recommendations.
2. Set in concrete foundations three feet (3’) deep by two feet (2’) diameter.
B. Benches
1. Installation in accordance with the provided drawings.
2. Insure bench shall be level after concrete pour.

PART 4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
4.01 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
Any work performed without the authorization of the COR will not be measured or paid for. Any materials not incorporated into the work will not be paid for. The Contractor shall be responsible for purchasing the types and quantities of materials necessary to complete this project.
Payment for the various items as specified herein shall constitute full compensation for furnishing all labor, equipment and materials and performing all operations required to complete the work in conformity with the drawings and specifications. All incidental costs in connection with work not specifically mentioned in the measurement and payment items shall be included in the contract prices for the items listed.
1. Installation of Pavilion. This item will be considered to include all supplies, equipment and labor to complete the installation of a pavilion including concrete footings and pad as designated in the specifications and drawings. Payment for this item will be made as Each.
2. Installation of Benches. This item will be considered to include all supplies, equipment and labor to complete the installation of a concrete bench including secure fastening system as designated in the specifications and drawings. Payment for this item will be made as Each.
3. Installation of Picnic Table. SECTION 01300
SUBMITTALS AND SUBSTITUTIONS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 DESCRIPTION
A. Work included: Make submittals required by the Contract Documents, and revise and resubmit as necessary to establish compliance with the specified requirements.
B. Related work:
1. Documents affecting work of this Section include, but are not necessarily limited to, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and Sections in Division 1 of these Specifications.
2. Individual requirements for submittals also may be described in pertinent Sections of these Specifications.
C. Work not included:
1. Unrequired submittals will not be reviewed by the COR
2. The Contractor may require his subcontractors to provide drawings, setting diagrams, and similar information to help coordinate the Work, but such data shall remain between the Contractor and his subcontractors and will not be reviewed by the COR
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Coordination of submittals:
1. Prior to each submittal, carefully review and coordinate all aspects of each item being submitted.
2. Verify that each item and the submittal for it conform in all respects with the specified requirements.
3. By affixing the Contractor’s signature to each submittal, certify that this coordination has been performed.
B. Contractor’s options:
1. For products specified by naming one product and manufacturer, or approved equal, provide complete specifications for any product requiring approval, other than named product.
2. For products specified only by reference standards, select any product meeting standards, by any manufacturer.
3. For products specified by naming several products or manufacturers, select any product and manufacturer named.
4. For products specified by naming only one product and manufacturer, there is no option.
1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Make submittals of Shop Drawings, Samples, and other items in accordance with the provisions of this Section.
1. Shop Drawings and Samples: Must be dated and contain the name of the project and description or names of equipment, materials, and items, and complete information of locations at which materials or equipment are to be installed.
2. Submission: Shop Drawings and samples shall be accompanied by transmittal letter containing project name; Contractors’ name, number of Drawings and samples, titles and other pertinent data.
3. Number: The number of Shop Drawings and the number of samples which the Contractor shall submit and if necessary re-submit, is the number the Contractor requires to be retained, plus two which will be retained by the COR.
4. Manuals: (Where required to be submitted covering items included in this Work) Prepare in durable plastic binders approximately 8-1/2 by 11 inches in size and with at least the following:
a. Identification on, or readable through, the front cover, stating general nature of the manual.
b. Neatly typewritten index near the front of the manual furnishing immediate information as to location in the manual of all emergency data regarding the installation, such as phone numbers for emergency contacts.
c. Complete instructions regarding operation and maintenance of all equipment involved.
d. Complete nomenclature of all replaceable parts, their part numbers, current cost, and name and address of nearest vendor of parts.
e. Copy of all guarantees and warranties issued.
f. Copy of the approved Shop Drawings with all data concerning changes made during construction.
5. Catalogs: Where contents of manuals include manufacturer’s catalogue pages, clearly indicate the precise items included in this installation and delete, or otherwise clearly indicate, all manufacturers’ data with which this installation is not concerned.
6. Delivery: Unless otherwise specifically directed by the COR, deliver one copy of the manual to the COR and one copy to the Contracting Officer.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 SHOP DRAWINGS
A. Scale and measurements: Make Shop Drawings accurately to a scale sufficiently large to show all pertinent aspects of the item and its method of connection to the Work.
B. Types of prints required:
1. Submit Shop Drawings in a standard reproducible form plus three prints of each sheet.
2. Blueprints will not be acceptable.
C. Review comments of the COR will be shown on the sepia transparency when it is returned to the Contractor. The Contractor may make and distribute such copies as are required for his purposes.
2.02 MANUFACTURERS’ LITERATURE
A. Where contents of submitted literature from manufacturers include data not pertinent to the submittal, clearly show which portions of the contents are being submitted for review.
B. Submit the number of copies, which are required to be returned, plus two copies which will be retained by the COR.
2.03 SAMPLES
A. Provide Sample or Samples identical to the precise article proposed to be provided. Identify as described under ―Identification of Submittals‖ below.
B. Number of Samples required:
1. Unless otherwise specified, submit Samples in the quantity, which is required to be returned, plus two which will be retained by the COR.
2. By prearrangement in specific cases, a single Sample may be submitted for review.
2.04 COLORS AND PATTERNS
A. Unless the precise color and pattern is specifically called out in the Contract Documents, and whenever a choice of color or pattern is available in the specified products, submit accurate color and pattern charts to the COR for selection.
3.01 IDENTIFICATION OF SUBMITTALS
A. All submittals.
1. When material is resubmitted for any reason, transmit under a new letter of transmittal and with a new transmittal number.
2. On resubmits, cite the original submittal number for reference.
B. Accompany each submittal with a letter of transmittal showing all information required for identification and checking.
C. On at least the first page of each submittal, and elsewhere as required for positive identification, show the submittal number in which the item was included.
D. Maintain an accurate submittal log for the duration of the Work, showing current status of all submittals at all times. Make the submittal log available to the COR for his review upon request.
3.02 GROUPING OF SUBMITTALS
A. Unless otherwise specified, make submittals in groups containing all associated items to assure that information is available for checking each item when it is received.
1. Partial submittals may be rejected as not complying with the provisions of the Contract.
2. The Contractor may be held liable for delays so occasioned.
3.03 TIMING OF SUBMITTALS
A. Make submittals far enough in advance of scheduled dates for installation to provide time required for reviews, for securing necessary approvals, for possible revisions and resubmittals, and for placing orders and securing delivery.
B. In scheduling, allow at least ten working days for review by the COR following his receipt of the submittal.
3.04 CONTRACTING OFFICER’S REPRESENTATIVE’S REVIEW
A. Review by the COR does not relieve the Contractor from responsibility for errors, which may exist in the submitted data.
B. Revisions:
1. Make revisions required by the COR.
2. If the Contractor considers any required revision to be a change, he shall so notify the
COR as provided for in Paragraph 12.3 of the General Conditions.
3. Make only those revisions directed or approved by the COR.
SECTION 01500
TEMPORARY FACILITIES
1.01 DESCRIPTION
A. Work included: Provide temporary facilities and controls needed for the Work including, but not necessarily limited to
1. Temporary utilities such as heat, water, electricity, and telephone.
2. Field office for the Contractor's personnel

2. Except that equipment furnished by subcontractors shall comply with requirements of pertinent safety regulations such equipment normally furnished by the individual trades in execution of their own portions of the Work are not part of this Section.
3. Permanent installation and hookup of the various utility lines are described in other Sections.
1.02 PRODUCT HANDLING
A. Maintain temporary facilities and controls in proper and safe condition throughout progress of the Work.
2.01 FIELD OFFICES AND SHEDS
A. Contractor's facilities
1. Provide office building and sheds adequate in size and accommodation for Contractor's offices, supply and storage.
B. Sanitary facilities
1. Provide temporary sanitary facilities in the quantity required for use by all personnel.
2. Maintain in a sanitary condition at all times.
2.02 ENCLOSURES
A. Provide and maintain for the duration of construction all scaffolds, tarpaulins, canopies, warning signs, steps, platforms bridges, and other temporary construction necessary for proper completion of the Work in compliance with pertinent safety and other regulations.
2.03 SECURITY AND PROTECTION
A. Provide facilities and services as necessary to effectively protect project from losses and persons from injury during the course of construction.
B. In addition to temporary water service for construction, and the placing of permanent fire protection facilities in operating condition at the earliest feasible date, provide fire extinguishers of types and sizes recommended by NFPA to safeguard project against fire damage.
C. Provide barricades at hazardous locations, complete with signs, general lighting, warning lights and similar devices where appropriate or required by regulations.
3.01 MAINTENANCE AND REMOVAL
A. Maintain temporary facilities and controls as long as needed for safe and proper completion of the Work.
B. Remove such temporary facilities and controls as rapidly as progress of the Work will permit; or as directed by the COR.
SECTION 01510
TEMPORARY UTILITIES
1.01 WATER
A. Contractor's sole responsibility and expense.
B. The Contractor shall be responsible for hauling water to the site and shall ensure the adequacy of such water for use for drinking and sanitation, or otherwise provide an adequate supply for such use.
C. The Government shall provide water for the contractor at the Glenwood Administrative Site if the Contractor chooses to use it. The Contractor shall provide a water supply adequate for use for construction and fire protection purposes, and for all connections, distribution facilities, and costs associated therewith.
1.02 ELECTRICITY AND LIGHTING
A. Contractor's sole responsibility.
B. The Contractor shall be responsible for locating a temporary source of electrical energy for use during the construction period, and for providing needed power to the site.
C. The Contractor shall provide necessary transformers or other equipment, make necessary connections and provide necessary distribution lines for use by all trades during construction at locations so that power can be secured at any working area with no more than 100-foot extension.
D. The Contractor shall provide and maintain temporary lighting for safe and adequate working conditions throughout all work areas, enclosures, and stairways during the construction period.
E. Temporary electrical work shall meet the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), latest edition.
F. Disconnect and remove all temporary equipment and materials upon completion of construction or conversion to permanent system, and repair all damage caused by temporary installations.
G. Contractor may use permanent electrical system for construction purposes provided that use is regulated to prevent interference with orderly progress of the work or adjacent facilities in use, and permanent system (including lamps) is
1.03 SANITARY FACILITIES
A. Contractor may use the existing sanitation facilities at the site but must keep them in a neat and clean manner.
1.04 OTHER
A. Temporary Heat and Protection: Contractor shall provide and maintain temporary enclosures, weather barriers, heat and ventilation as necessary to properly protect and cure all portions of the work, whether or not permanently incorporated into the project, at all times during the construction period. Do not use solid fuel burning space heaters, or use or leave unattended any equipment or apparatus which creates an unsafe condition.

SECTION 02040
DEMOLITION
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 DESCRIPTION
A. Remove existing work, materials and items as indicated on the drawings, as required by job site conditions, as scheduled, and as specified herein, to accomplish new work.
B. Patch all existing surfaces that are disturbed, damaged or otherwise made defective in appearance or function by the execution of required work under this contract. Repair and resurface all disturbed areas using compatible materials to match adjacent surfaces in hardness and texture.
1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Contractor shall coordinate construction procedures and schedule with COR, and shall comply with all applicable requirements found in the Construction Documents.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 DISPOSITION OF MATERIALS
A. Remove all materials or debris resulting from demolition operation from the site promptly. No accumulation of debris will be permitted.
B. Do not burn wood and inflammable debris resulting from demolition operations on the site.
C. All salvageable items and materials shall be carefully removed and placed without damage.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION
A. Plan all work in advance, informing COR of procedure and schedule.
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Protect existing buildings and adjacent surfaces, features, and property. Restore to original condition all work damaged or otherwise made defective in appearance or function by the execution of required work under this contract. Interference with use of facilities shall be kept to a minimum and all work resulting in such interference shall be performed at a time approved beforehand by the COR.
B. Remove all work carefully and only to the extent required for the final work. Remove all loose or damaged materials, caused by demolition, noted or specified to be removed.
C. Where materials are to be removed, remove such items with care to minimize damage to adjacent materials.
