USFS Law Enforcement vehicle specs.
Below is a list of some items needed to complete a law enforcement vehicle full build for a 2017 Dodge
2500HD pickup, 4 door Crew Cab
Lights
- 51” LED light bar with 3 colors (Red/Blue with full flood white light to the front – Red/Blue, amber directional lights to the rear) proper mounting brackets for light bar
- At least 100W siren/PA speaker
- Compatible control module for lights, siren, and PA
- LED lights at least 2, Red/White, Blue/White, in front grille of vehicle or attached to brush guard/bumper replacement
- LED lights inside rear passenger window, one on each side, for side visibility (Red/white, Blue/White)
- LED’s in space between tailgate and bumper 4 (red/white, blue/white, Red/white, blue/white)
Prisoner Transport
- Aluminum/Plexi-glass rear ¼ cage – if not aluminum it needs to have Plexi-glass coverage to prevent body fluid contact
- Plexi-glass/polycarbonate window barrier – prevent transport injury
Console
- Extra wide console w/faceplates for 2 radios, controller.
- cup holder
- small lock box in console
- armrest
- side pocket mounts on passenger side of console
- Magnetic mic clips
- Computer, side mount, for Toughbook CF-31 (no tri pod mounts)
- Docking station mount (out of passenger side airbag zone)
- Printer mount, (printer will be provided)
Gun Locks
- X-large handcuff style gun lock with handcuff key override
- Butt plate for rifle and shotgun
Antenna/Radio
- Antenna kits for UHF and VHF radio, APX 7000, Technical Requirements
- At least a 5 year warranty on wiring harness or installed wiring (lifetime preferred)
- Durable wiring labeling with what wire goes to, what component so that if a vehicle needs repairs at another facility, they will be able to quickly diagnose and find the correct wire
- No butt connectors, splice connecting
- Wire welded back together for structural integrity
- Battery voltage regulators, built in timers, and full shut off override switches to prevent battery failure.
