4. Spec Section 010250, 3.3 Optional Items, 3.b please change the reference from the bunkhouse to the shop.
Reference has been changed in the reissued drawings.
5. It was discussed that the bedrock could be within 5’ of the existing grade. With the water lines required to be 6’ deep, there’s a possibility of hitting rock. Please provide a provision for a unit price for rock removal, disposal and additional bedding material.
Provision for unit price for rock removal, disposal, and additional bedding material not provided.
6. Please confirm that any tree debris or tree stump removal will remain on site for the owner to dispose of.
Clarification is provided in the revised specification.
7. Please confirm that all framing material is fire treated as per Spec Section 016000, 2.3.E.
Clarification is provided in the revised specification.
8. There is a Spec Section 083613 for Sectional Doors. The scope of work does not indicate that we are replacing any of the other doors in the shop other than the one that gets framed in.
Sectional door work is clarified in the revised drawings and specifications.
9. Section: Technical Proposal Instructions, A. Relevant Past Performance. Will the Government accept experience of a major subcontractor for part of the experience factor?
If providing past performance as a subcontractor must be identified as such.
10. Drawing A1.1, Barracks Rehab General note 6. Insulate attic with minimum of R-60 of spray foam insulation, install eave ventilation throughs. Two questions, is it desired that spray foam insulation be installed? Is it desired to have an R rating of R-60? Typically, spray foam insulation provides an R-value of 7 per inch when sprayed. I do not think it will be possible or cost effective to put 8 to 9 inches of foam into the attic. Will the Government consider sprayed in loose-fill cellulose insulation?
Utilize sprayed-in loose-fill cellulose insulation. Drawing note is changed in reissued drawings.
11. Drawing A1.2, office rehab note 1. The note states to patch a 5 foot by 5 foot section of Fiber Cement siding. During the site visit, the size of the patch is more like a 5 inches by 5 inches. Will replacing the siding with the hole and painting to match suffice?
Replace the siding as indicated to patch the hole. Paint the siding to match existing siding.
12. Drawings. During the site visit, Don Lira showed a drawing with the door and window schedule for the barracks in his packet. The page seems to be missing in Attachment 02 Drawings & Map that was posted. Will the Government provide that information?
Door and window schedules are included in reissued drawings and specifications.

13. Drawings. Pages E1.1 and E 2.1 describe work to be done by the utility company. Will the contractor be liable for any of these costs?
Answer:

14. Will the Forest Service entertain allowing the contractor to reside in the cabin since it will be taken out of rental during construction?
Answer:
The contractor may reside in the cabin during construction. Schedule occupancy and pay rental fees as required by the District Ranger.
15. Will the contractor be allowed to bring a travel trailer to the work center grounds and remain on site during construction?
Answer:
An area will be identified for locating a temporary field office, recreational vehicle parking, and storage sheds.
The temporary facilities can remain on site during construction. Coordinate size and location of area with Contracting Officer prior to bringing in temporary facilities. Security and clean-up of temporary facility location is the responsibility of the Contractor.
16. Will facility be in use during the project?
Government will have use of the site as indicated in the specifications
17. Is boring of the water line a requirement or a recommendation?
Boring is required where indicated. Elsewhere boring or trenching is up to the contractor
18. Do railroad ties down by the work shop need to be replaced and if so will they be government furnished?
Railroad ties (8 x8 timbers) are government furnished.
19. Who will do the septic tank inspections?
Pueblo county
20. Will an effluent filter on the septic tanks be required since it is a State of Colorado recommendation now?
