Q/A Trail Bridge Aerial Transport

AG-82BH-S-14-0047

1. Will all of the smaller materials be bundled and strapped or banded ?

Yes, the smaller materials (decking, posts, running planks, rails) will be bundled for each bridge and strapped together prior to start of work.

2. It appears the S. Colony bridge is put together. Will this be dismantled prior to starting the project?

Yes, the S. Colony bridge will be dismantled into the pieces listed in the contract prior to start of work.

3. Will the 12"x12" timbers be secured to the abutment securely prior to us setting beams and trusses?

Yes, the 12”x12” timbers will be bolted to the abutments prior to start of work.

4. Are there bolts in place sticking out of 12"x12" timbers to set trusses on to?

No, bolts will be placed after bridges are in place.

5. Are there any issues with the project occurring during Deer/ Elk hunting seasons?

There are no issues with the project occurring during hunting seasons.

6. If we can obtain "other" staging do we need anything other than the landowners permission?

Land owner permission is sufficient, we don’t need an additional land use agreement. The agreement to use other private lands and responsibility for rehabbing any damage done to those lands will stay between the contractor and the land owner.

7. I am assuming there could be tree growth/ branches over the bridge sites. Are we responsible for branches that could break while setting the larger members?

We have already visited the sites with FS crews and cleared the areas of trees that might hinder bridge setting operations. If we identify more problem trees prior to start of work we can re-visit with FS crews to complete further clearing. The contractor will not be responsible for remaining branches that may break during bridge setting.
