Refer to Section 7 - Period of Performance under the Statement of Work: The draft is due 60 days from the completion of the field work.

1. The RFQ doesn't definitively describe the full boundary of the inventory area. Most importantly, should the eastern boundary of the area be considered to be the roadway intersection at the beginning of the canyon, the intersection with US 212, or another point?

A: The project area is within the west Fork of Rock Creek Drainage on FS administered lands outside of the wilderness boundary.

Does the study area extend upstream beyond the current end of the road?

A: See answer above.

What natural or other features should be considered as the north and south boundaries of the survey corridor? A map delineating the boundary of the inventory area would be extremely helpful.

A: See above answer.

2. Is it correct to assume that property types should correspond to resource types found within the study area, rather than resource types found only in the broader geographic area?

A: Yes

3. Is field inventory required for linear resources that may be identified in historic research, but which no longer exist as functional travel routes?

A: Yes

4. If extended oral history interviews are conducted, would it be acceptable to index rather than transcribe them?

A: No

5. Is it correct to assume that small-scale structural elements of a linear resource (such as retaining walls and culverts along a road) should be recorded as component features of the primary linear resource, rather than as separate sites?

A: Component features of the primary linear resource

6. If the project's background research and fieldwork determine to the agreement of all parties that an MPD submittal is not the most appropriate documentation for the study area, will the development of an alternate product be acceptable?

A: Yes with agreement of all parties

7. Is the size of the project area (e.g., in acres or square miles), and a list the Township, Range, and Sections covered by the project, or an outline of the project area on a USGS 1:24,000' map available?

A: The project area is on FS lands within the west Fork of Rock Creek Drainage outside of the Wilderness boundary.

8. Also, how many cultural properties have been inventoried in the project area to date?

A: There are over 25 recorded sites within the project area and one NRHP District.
