Questions:

1. Electric:

a. Do we reuse the existing conduits back to panel 'DA'?

Yes, reuse existing conduits back to panel DA

Existing Conduit is: 1” Rigid Metal Conduit

b. Do we install new wiring or reuse existing?

Wiring can be reused if proper size and length. Include in your proposal whether you will reuse wire or install new.

c. Do we reuse the existing breakers in panel 'DA'?

Existing breaker is 100 Amp, 2 pole. Can be reused if proper size.

Panel DA information:

Siemens 1200 Amp Cat. No: S4A75ML120ATS S.O. 17-11336-A00

2. Contract clauses:

a. The RFQ states completion 60 days after NTP. Section F, Para. 52.211-10 states: Start within 10 days after NTP and completion within 75 days. Please clarify.

75 days

3. Force main piping:

a. Per Dwg C-4.1, note on upper column line 16, it notes that there is a piece of 2 1/2" 304 stainless pipe through the wall. Is this pipe still there?

According to the as-built drawings, the pipe sleeve and 2.5” SS 304 were installed. Pipe sleeve is in place but pipe from skid through wall is 2” Galvanized.

b. Is there a fitting on the end of this pipe?

Drawings indicate a fitting beyond wall to transition from SS to PVC. Joints from wall to pump skid are threaded fittings.

c. How is the transition made from the stainless pipe to the existing discharge piping from the pump skid?

There is a bolted flange at the pump skid. Transitioning to 2” galvanized via 2.5”x2” reducer.

Joint at discharge valve is: 2” threaded galvanized Joint at isolation valve is: 2” brass ball valve Joint at wall is: 2” threaded galvanized

4. Installation:

a. Is the contractor to provide temporary pumping facilities during the pump changeover outage?

Yes. Plan work to minimize cost and impact to center operations. Would be good to address method in your proposal. (Examples: Tank will be pumped prior to system replacement. Effluent level monitored and maintained by outside pumping service. Temporary pump station and or portable toilets)

Local personnel report peak use of center during month of July, which results in largest flows during this time. Local personnel indicate pump runs once per day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which receive the largest visitation. Pump runs every other day rest of week. This information indicates 1800 gallons of flow per day on peak days. There is no guarantee on the accuracy of this information.

5. RFQ-Section C, Division 200, Para. 210-Package Pump System, The last bullet point item of the paragraph states:

"insulate all exposed sanitary sewer pipe".

Question: Does this mean all piping in the enclosure? I presume it means all piping outside of the enclosure. Please clarify.

This does mean all piping outside of the enclosure. Existing “exposed pipe” insulation is 2” fiberglass with metal jacket.

An example of this can be seen in the photos. This is also noted on the as-built plans, sheet C-4.1, note 1.

6. Is there vehicle access to the 1244 elevation (where the pump skid sits)?

A small UTV such as a Polaris Ranger or John Deer Gator can access the area.
