(Specifications) Doors & Hardware For

USDA

Fruit & Tree Nut Research Lab 21 Dunbar Rd.

Byron, GA 31008

1. Introduction The Agricultural Research Service in Byron Georgia is currently seeking proposals from qualified vendors to supply all doors and hardware in main lavatories and office building at the Southeast Fruit and Tree Nut Research Station. Consisting of 149 existing openings, 1st floor has 76 and 2nd floor has 73. Required number of doors and associated hardware to be installed are listed on the attached spec sheets. Size and non-Brand Name hardware to be determined by Vendor before placing order. All doors to be prefinished by manufacture, color and texture of finish to be determined by Vendor that will match existing doors 1st Floor, rooms 142 & 143.

Due to limited space and working condition that will be ongoing at location during time of delivery, assembly and mounting of all hardware will need to be performed off location prior to delivery. Blank plates, closure arms and hinges to be mounted by USDA after delivery to facility. All CORMAX locks will be delivered to USDA and scheduled for install at a later date by USDA personnel.

The facility has a brand name specification for all locks, panic bars and deadbolts, cylinders and CORMAX cores w/key from Stanley Best. After award of contract USDA Byron facility will sign a letter for approval, facilitating order with Stanley.

The project will require two separate Phases. Phase 1: doors and hardware for 2nd floor will be scheduled for delivery no later than May 15, 2016. Phase 2: doors and hardware delivered no later than March 01 2017, which may require a slight adjustment due to HVAC renovation schedule. Phase 2 will not be funded until availability of Fiscal Year 2017 appropriations.

1. All Base Proposals for Phase 1, 2nd floor shall be to supply all hardware, doors and assembly of hardware excluding blank plates, hinges, CORMAX cores and closer arms.

2. Add alternate/option 1: to supply all hardware, doors and assembly of hardware excluding blank plates, hinges, CORMAX cores and closer arms.

3. Add alternate/option 2: Install continuous concealed hinge in place of ball bearing hinges on doors.

Contractor must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) (www.sam.gov) to be awarded any resultant contract. (See Clause FAR 52.204-7.)

2. Statement of Work Provide all materials, labor, equipment and all other items necessary to deliver doors ready for install. Item not required for assembly are to be delivered to USDA no later than deliver of doors for each phase.

3. General Requirements

a) Doors;

Thickness 1-3/4” Color: All doors must be factory finished wood veneer, matching existing doors at men’s and women’s bathroom on 1st floor color and texture.

Edging: 1” structural composite lumber with veneer edge bound.

Comply with ANSI A208.1 Security rating or no less than Class 40 An acceptable product is Particleboard Core Door model DPC Signature Series by Marshfield Vendor may use a door that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

b) Lever Locks: Brand specific item Type: Stanley (Best) 7kC lockset Finish: 626-Satin chrome plated

Trim: 15D
1 CORMAX core per lever knob to be purchased with key, delivered to

USDA prior to install

c) Dead Bolt: Brand specific item
Type: Stanley (Best) 7T2/7T3
Finish: 626-Satin chrome plated
Function: K-turn knob
d) Hinges:
Type: Ball bearing
Finish: polished steel
Features: non removable pins

An acceptable product is Knuckle Full Mortise Hinge model FBB179 by Stanley.

Vendor may use hinges that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

e) Door Closers:
Fully adjustable to allow maximum flexibility.

All weather fluid to ensure optimal operational performance in multiple climate conditions.

Cover: Rounded plastic Type arm function: Hold open closure arm Meet ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Finish: Aluminum An acceptable product is 100 Series Grade 1 model QDC112 closure by Stanley.

Vendor may use a door closer that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

f) Push & Pull Plate:
Size: 4” x 16”
Finish: stainless steel
Edge: Beveled edges
Fastener: must be screwed down, screws no greater than #6 size
Handle: 1” round with 6” CTC shape

All doors indicated on schedule to have push plate are to have a pull plate on one side and a push plate on the other.

An acceptable product for pull & push plate model 70C by Rockwood Manufacturing Company.

Vendor may use a push pull plate that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

g) Kick Plate:
Size: 8” x 34”
Finish: stainless steel
Edge: Beveled edges
Fastener: must be screwed down, screws no greater than #6 size

All doors indicated on schedule to have kick plates are to have one on each side at bottom of door.

An acceptable product is model US32D/630 by Rockwood Manufacturing Company.

Vendor may use a kick plate that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

h) Exit device without vertical rod: Brand specific item

Type: Stanley (Best) RIM Apex 2100 series
Finish: Stainless Steel
Knob: lever 4900A
Vandal Resistant

i) Exit device with vertical rod: Brand specific item

Type: Stanley (Best) RIM Apex 2200 series

j) Lite kit without blind (frame and glass) side lite, half glass and full glass:

Size: side lite; 6” x 27”, half glass; 24” x 24”, full glass 24” x 60” Gauge: Minimum 18 gauge rolled steel. Mitered and welded corners, with reinforcing clips at corners.

Finish: power coat bronze An acceptable product is L-FRA100 by National Guard Products, Inc.

Vendor may use a lite kit that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

k) Tempered glass:

1) Single layer tempered glass to be installed in side lite (6” x 27”) and half glass (24” x24”) frame only.
2) Laminated glass to be installed in 24” x 60” metal frame to be minimum ¼” thick laminated with frosted finish in middle.
3) Glazing tape to be used between glass and metal frame with a small shim placed at bottom of glass to prevent resting on metal frame.
4) Tempered glass minimum ¼ thick single layer.

An acceptable product is made by CR Laurence, custom order to size.

l) Lite kit with blind (frame and glass) full glass:

Size: full glass 24” x 60”
Gauge: Minimum 20 gauge metal frame
Finish: power coat bronze
Glass: white mini blind internal with clear tempered insulated glass two sides

An acceptable product is Vision Frames model LoPro-IS-MB by Anemostat.

Vendor may use a lite kit that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

m) Door Louvers Size: 12” x 18” Gauge: Minimum 18 gauge rolled steel. Mitered and welded corners, with reinforcing clips at corners.

Finish: power coat bronze
Design: inverted “V”
Fastener: must be screwed down, screws no greater than #8 size

An acceptable product is L-700 by National Guard Products, Inc.

Vendor may use a door louvers that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

n) Blank Plates
Strike cut out: 4 7/8” x 1 ¼”
Frame cut out: 4 ½” x 1 5/8”
Finish: primer gray

An acceptable product is FF-45 frame hinge cut out & FS-260-PC strike cut out by DON-JO Manufacturing, INC.

Vendor may use a door louvers that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

o) Continuous Hinge:

Type: standard duty concealed leaf Finish: Stainless Steel An acceptable product is 650 Series hinge by Stanley.

Vendor may use a continuous hinge that meets or exceeds same properties and is approved by the CO.

4. Government Provided Items The Government will unload doors/hardware when delivered. Supervision

5. Work Hours Work hours for this project shall be from 8:00am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.

6. Site Visit Instructions Vendors may inspect the site where doors are to be delivered and measure for specifications and to satisfy themselves as to all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of the performance of the contract to the extent such information can be reasonably obtained.
