Vendor Questions – Government Answers, Poultry Isolators
Question 1:
Specifications mention “similar to our current isolators”. Can you provide photos of your existing isolators?
Answer:
Five photographs of such an isolator for uploaded in FedBizOpps for review.
*Note – These isolators are not in service, and may not depict all parts attached. Vendors must refer to actual written specifications for current solicitation requirement.
Question 2:
The inside height specification above the floor level is 20”. Does this take into account a heat lamp hanging from the ceiling of the isolator? Should there be 20” clearance between heat lamp and floor?
Answer:
A heat lamp assembly consisting of a bare bulb in a socket, hanging from an adjustable mount, where the socket could be raised as high as possible out of the way, and the lamp removed when not needed, would be acceptable, avoiding the need for 20” of clearance between heat lamp and floor.
Question 3:
What size do you want the smaller “bird-access” opening?
Answer:
Acceptable size range is between 19” – 24” in width and 11” – 14” in height.
Question 4:
What is the capacity of the feed bin?
Answer:
Minimum capacity for the feed bin is 1500 cubic inches/24.6 liters.
