Questions and Answers at the Site Showing.

Q.Are local building permits needed for work on federal buildings? Will extra time be allowed until start-up to wait for permits?
A.52.236-7 Permits and Responsibilities.

Permits and Responsibilities (Nov 1991) The Contractor shall, without additional expense to the Government, be responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and permits, and for complying with any Federal, State, and municipal laws, codes, and regulations applicable to the performance of the work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for all damages to persons or property that occur as a result of the Contractor’s fault or negligence. The Contractor shall also be responsible for all materials delivered and work performed until completion and acceptance of the entire work, except for any completed unit of work which may have been accepted under the contract.

Q.Does a credit accrue if some or all of the plywood at Buildings A, C, and E appears adequate and does not need to be replaced?
A.No credit for unused materials.
Q.Statement of Work – Tree Removal and Sidewalk Repair,
A.After tree removal, grind stump and roots beneath sidewalk and replace sidewalk.
Q.Statement of Work – Specifications for Repairing Block/Painting Buildings,
A.Vegetation and earthfill will be removed from the block walls of the greenhouse at Building A by PMC staff.
Q.Statement of Work – Roof Replacement,
A.Roof Replacement at Building C to include replacement of corrugated roofing on 7’ x 13’-7” side building with plywood and shingle roofing.
Q.Statement of Work – Gable Ends,
A.The Contractor will remove and replace soft or unsound wood at the gable ends on Buildings A, C, and E and cover with vinyl siding that complements roofs on each building.
Q.Statement of Work – Gutter/Downspout Replacement,
A.Replace all fascia and rake boards around entire buildings with new vinyl wrapped boards. Replace damaged wood soffit with vinyl material around buildings as necessary. Remove and replace soft or unsound wood on gables of buildings and cover with vinyl siding.

Q. Can the bids be emailed and I told them that they are to be mailed. Are the contractors A. No, All Bids must be mailed the address in block 8 of the Solicitation Package Standard Form 1442.
