The following questions and answers are as follows:

Q: Do we need to quote on all items?

A: Yes.

Q: The amendment now shows miles instead of the original acres as to the unit measurement. Can you please confirm this?

A: The first amendment was to provide due date to questions and extend the quote due date to May 18th at 1p.m. MST. Unit of measurement was not changed and will remain in mileage.

Q: Will you accept the quote response via e-mail?

A: No electronic signatures will be accepted, but scan of original signatures will be accepted via e-mail to avelasco@fs.fed.us.

Q: Can you please tell me which firm was awarded the most recent iteration of this solicitation, and how much that award was for?

A: The previous award was to Daniel Fox in the amount of $23,020.17, which was an option year contract (base year with 2 option years)

Q: Could you let me know the width that you were wanting each mile sprayed?

A: 25 feet either side of the trail where infestations are present (totaling 50 feet when including both sides of the trail) Areas inventoried would also include the same coverage.

Q: Condition of Trails to as they relate to the two categories shown (Inventory; Inventory & Treat)?

A: Inventory - Trails to be inventoried are not generally believed to have large infestations of noxious weeds. However, noxious weed inventories requested on these trails is expected to identify additional weed infestations. These weed infestations may by relatively large or small.

Inventory & Treat – These trails are generally known to have noxious weed infestations requiring treatment. However, noxious weeds are generally limited in size and extent on these trails.

Q: What is the difference between Inventory and Inventory and Treat within the tables shown?

A: Inventory only requires the trail to be surveyed to the required dimensions with noxious weed infestations being inventoried according to the protocol described. Inventory and treatment requires noxious weed sites not only be inventoried but also treated according to the protocol described.

Q: How long could the contract run?

A: Contract has a base year plus 4 additional years.

Q: About how long would it take to complete the required inventory and inventory and treat for the base year?

A: This would depend upon a number of variables including the number of weed infestations to be mapped and treated. Trails to be inventoried only should require much less time than those showing inventory and treatment.
