About this file

This Addendum No. 2 document modifies the original contract documents for the Lansing School District's Gardner Elementary School Chiller Replacement project, administered by Matrix Consulting Engineers. The project involves the replacement of a chilled water system at Gardner Elementary School in Lansing, Michigan (Project No. 260150.00/SO-1858). Work encompasses general construction, site, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical components. A pre-bid conference was held with an attendance sign-in sheet included in this addendum. The project is scheduled to commence within ten calendar days of contract award, with substantial completion required by January 1, 2027. Bids were due by 2:00 PM on June 4, 2026, and should be submitted to the Lansing School District Purchasing Department at 519 W Kalamazoo Street, Lansing, Michigan 48933. Proposals must include one original and two copies in a sealed envelope marked as SO-1858.

Key modifications and clarifications in this addendum address specifications for the bid proposal form, allowance values, and multiple requests for information. The allowance has been revised to a fixed dollar amount of $80,000 to cover materials, receiving, handling, installation, and contractor overhead and profit. Critical clarifications include confirmation that the project is not subject to prevailing wage requirements, exterior piping shall be insulated and jacketed rather than painted, condenser water piping uses water rather than propylene glycol, and there is no roof warranty included. Supplier and vendor application forms are required only as start-up submittals rather than with the bid submission. The asbestos report for the facility is available upon request from the school district, and the chilled water system operates independently from the existing hot water hydronic system.
