About this file

This Single Source Justification (SSJ) document from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Chesapeake Field Office details a sole source acquisition for a Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) with a mounted LIDAR sensor from Frontier Precision. The procurement is for ground condition surveys, permit requirements, nutra eradication, design development, salt marsh health monitoring, and restoration activities.

The justification indicates that Frontier Precision was selected after multiple meetings and product reviews through a multi-month process. Alternative vendors like Reigel and Rock Robotics were evaluated but did not meet technical specifications. The total procurement includes a YellowScan Mapper+ scanner, single camera module, Applanix POSPac UAV software, CloudStation Pro license, UgCS Expert license, and related accessories. The contract will be executed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures for purchases under $250,000, with the contractor's DUNS number 60-601-5493 and TIN 45-0423088 documented. The documents are digitally signed by Julie Slacum (Program/Project Officer) and John Skogen (Contracting Officer) with projected signature dates in 2025.
