Great Basin Incident Management Team (IMT)

Plans Section Trailer

Specifications

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) at the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has a requirement for one (1) dual-axle (tandem) deck over cargo trailer with a cargo box that is approximately 18 feet long and approximately 7.5 feet wide. The cargo box shall have a wedge or V nose that is approximately 2 feet included as part of the overall length of 18 feet and an aluminum frame.

Submissions will be evaluated to determine the best value to the government based on the technical merits of the offering, delivery date, warranty, and cost also being a factor. Submission packets should contain the manufacture make and model and include a specification list that addresses the specification requirements contained in this document.

The trailer shall meet the following specifications:

Dimensions

Trailer design is an aluminum framed enclosed cargo trailer. The aluminum frame is required to minimize the trailer weight.

The overall length of the trailer shall not exceed 20 feet 10 inches. The overall width measured at the widest inside point shall not exceed 86 inches.

The trailer shall have a GVWR of 7000 pounds minimum.

The interior dimensions of the cargo area shall have a usable length of at least 16 feet. The usable width shall be 86 inches plus or minus 2 inches. The interior height shall be 82 inches, plus or minus 3 inches.

Construction

The trailer shall have one 32 inch (minimum) side entry door located in front of the axles on the passenger side, and one rear swing down ramp. Side entry door will be equipped with a locking mechanism. Rear ramp door shall be secured with a double bar lock system.

Trailer shall be constructed with aluminum frame.

The rear door opening shall have a width of 82 inches plus or minus 2 inches and a minimum height of 78 inches.

The rear ramp shall be with cable assist to help with lowering and raising the door.

The trailer shall be equipped with axles rated at a minimum of 3,500 pounds.

The trailer shall have four (4) 6,000lb rated Recessed Swivel D rings welded to the frame placed at locations to customer specifications.

The trailer shall have a total of five identical tires and wheels (including spare).

The trailer shall be equipped with a 2-5/16 locking up ball coupler.

The trailer shall be equipped with a tongue mounted jack with ground pad rated for the trailer size.

The trailer shall be constructed with aluminum exterior screwless skin. The skin shall be painted/coated silver in color.

The front of the trailer shall have aluminum tread or diamond plate applied to the lower 24 inches minimum to protect against rock chips.

The interior shall be finished with 3/8 inch paneling.

The floor shall be made of ¾ inch water resistant decking.

The interior shall include a bracket to securely mount the spare tire to the wall.

The trailer shall have one flow vent.

Electrical

Trailer shall be wired with a 7 way 12 volt vehicle connector.

Trailer lighting shall meet DOT requirements. All lighting for the trailer shall be LED.

Trailer shall have a minimum of 2 interior 12 volt LED dome lights controlled by switches (2) located near the rear and side entry doors.

Warranty Requirements

The trailer shall have a minimum one year warranty from date of acceptance that covers the trailer and all components it is built with.
