Salient Characteristics S21065

SNOWPACK SENSORS (BRAND NAME OR EQUAL)

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS:

4 EA, 1000mm Snow Scale:

1. Shall be capable automated continuous measurement of snow water equivalent of a snowpack.

2. Shall be a non-fluid (no antifreeze liquid required) design that uses load cells.

3. Shall have measurement range from 0 to at least 1,000 mm SWE.

4. Shall run on at least 10 VDC.

5. Shall have an operating temperature range from -40 to at least 176° F.

6. Shall have inclination no more than 5°.

7. Shall have resolution of at least 0.1 KG/M² equal to by definition 0.1 MM Snow Water Equivalent.

8. Shall have SDI-12, RS-485 ASCII, and RS-485 MODBUS output.

9. Shall have aluminum box with lightning protection that has at least an IP68 rating.

10. Shall have accuracy of at least 0.3 % Full Scale.

11. Shall have a measuring surface of at least 6.72 m².

23. Shall be capable of recording each of the snow parameters: snow water equivalent, snow density, liquid water content, and ice content.

24. Shall utilize an impedance analyzer for performing the measurements of the complex impedance along the sensor and within the base of the snowpack.

25. Shall have a max power consumption during operating mode (for 5 sec.) of 50 mA.

26. Shall have an aluminum frame and integrated switch cabinet.

27. Shall have an operating temperature range from -35 to at least 80° C.

28. Shall have measurement range from 0 to at least 1,000 kg/m3 snow density.

29. Shall have resolution of at least 0.1 snow liquid water content.

30. Shall include a serial interface with RS 485 and SDI-12.

12 EA, Snow Depth Sensor:

31. Shall be capable of continuously detecting the reflective surface of snow to measure snow depth.

32. Shall have a snow depth measurement range between 0 to at least 10m with a measurement duration of at least 2 seconds, and a resolution of at least 1mm.

33. Shall include a serial interface with RS 485, SDI-12; ASCII format and Modbus RTU.

34. Shall have integrated temperature compensation allowing an accuracy of at least 0.1% Full Scale.

35. Shall have an operating temperature that ranges between -40 °C to at least 60 °C.

36. Shall have integrated air-temperature sensor with radiation shield.

a. Shall have measurement range between -40 °C to at least 60 °C.

b. Shall have at least a 0.1 °C resolution.

37. Shall have a housing with at least an IP 66 rating.

38. Shall have integrated lightning protection.

39. Shall include a sensor cable that is at least 10m long and a USB to RS-485 connection lead.

7 EA, Snow Drift Sensor:

40. Shall be capable of recording each of the snow parameters: solid particle flux concentrations and wind speed.

41. Shall be capable of making measurements not affected by air temperature or rain.

42. Shall detect only snow and ice particles.

43. Shall have a cable of at least 3m long.

44. Shall have SDI-12, two x 4-20mA, and RS-232 serial outputs.

45. Shall include acoustic sensor technology.

46. Shall measures wind speed up to at least 250km/h.
