Salient Characteristics

PADLOCK, HIGH SECURITY

The USGS Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) at Stennis Space Center, MS needs to purchase high security padlocks.

These padlocks will be used by USGS Water Mission Area field offices in harsh outside environments to secure government owned equipment and shelters at remote locations.

BODY MUST:

Be a 2 inch (50mm) reinforced laminated steel.

SHACKLE MUST:

Be hardened steel.

Be a minimum diameter of 3/8 inch (10mm).

Be a minimum of 1 inch (25mm) vertical clearance.

Be a minimum of 15/16 inch (24mm) horizontal clearance.

LOCK MECHANISM MUST:

Be non-rekeyable.

Be a 4-pin W1 cylinder.

Be dual locking levers to resist prying.

Be capable of removing key in the unlocked position.

Be capable of being keyed to USGS standard key, Master Lock number 2640.

KEY MUST:

Be keyed to USGS standard key, Master Lock number 2640.

Include 2 keys with each lock.

SPECIFICALLY INCLUDES:

Master Lock 5KA or EQUAL
