SPECIFICATIONS
PUMP PACKAGE WITH ACCESSORIES FOR FIRE ENGINE
North Zone Rachel Carson NWR
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Northeast Region Fire Management Program, North Zone located at 321 Port Road Wells, ME 04090 has a request for Standard Model 52 pump package or equivalent, with brand name or equal accessories (Troy Products). The request is for 1 pump package to be placed on ordered 2024 Chevy-5550 crew cab chassis. Vehicle is currently on order with estimated delivery date of 9/2024. The pump package needs to be fire ready and mounted on the vehicle, when ready for pickup. Item will be installed at the vendors’ facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Standard Model 52 Pump Package
-300 gallon poly (lower-profile) tank with 8 gallon foam reserve, control panel, four stage pump (Mercedes Wick FSP4200 or equivalent-able to use with BB-04 pump head for replacements) with drain valve -one (1) Hannay polished aluminum hose reel mounted on rear with 2/3 hp electric rewind motor and a steel box with pull out compartmentalized drawer and (painted) underneath for fittings -Hale electric and manual guzzler primer, -stainless steel piping with Y strainer -stainless steel gas tank 5 gallon minimum -hose rack -two (2) steel boxes with three (3) water tight compartments in each and zolatone coating -length of the flatbed with doors that have stainless steel support cables to hold door level when open -stainless steel flush mount slam-type D-ring auto latching hinges, automatic on/off LED cabinet lights when door opens/closes -driver side middle and rear compartment vented for fuel/chainsaw storage -Powder coating or zolatone inside, on adjustable shelves -T-deck -brass foot-valve, quick change hose fittings, brass shut off valves, all valves should be labeled
- stainless steel caps with wire attachment for 1 ½’ valves -mounted dry box located on top of water tank -9' 6" flat bed with (3) aluminum drafting hose containers with Blaylocks integrated into the bed -14” x 20” x 30” watertight toolbox mounted underneath the flatbed in front of rear tires just behind the cab with drain plug -two (2) wheel chocks mounted for easy access -Blizzard wizard foam proportioner.
-hard line hoses 150 foot on the reel.
-install back-up camera to vehicle specifications, protected from impact and debris -one (1) solid state back up alarm installed at the rear of apparatus, protected from impact and debris; back-up alarm shall be wired to the reverse circuit of the transmission and shall provide minimum volume of 87 decibels, maximum volume of 112 decibels, and automatically adjust to 5 decibels above ambient noise while in operation -spare tire holder -two (2) drip torch holders in upper rack near rear of vehicle with fuel spill containment and drain.
-warning label/fluid data that informs operators of vehicle height, weight, and proper fluids and capacities, lighted water level gauge mounted in operator cab within sight of driver. Master switch located in cab that disables all power -access step to be installed to easily gain access to top storage box.
Vehicle Emergency Lighting
-LED 2 color (red/white) emergency lights (NFPA 1906 Standards) to provide 360 degrees visible range, PA system (code 3) -additional LED red flashing lights placed powder coated heavy duty grille guard with minimum 12000 lb. winch installed and mounted to vehicle -grille guard should include two (2) integrated external tow eyes if manufacturer supplied eyes are not accessible -additional LED red flashing lights placed on back of truck either imbedded into flat bed or on top rack.
-take down and alley lights-controlled by internal switch -LED flood lights installed for rear and side cab protection; operation of lights should be through in-cab switches and/or pump control panel -light bar shall be installed utilizing a non-permanent mounting system -two (2) front and two (2) rear LED work lights installed for 360 degree and controlled independently by internal uplifter switch
Color
-slip on package including steel boxes, piping, etc. shall be painted with an automotive acrylic urethane or polyurethane paint and Oxford White in color -metal parts including metal toolbox mounted underneath the flatbed, flatbed, etc. shall be painted gloss black acrylic automotive grade enamel -items that are powder coated shall have a minimum 1-2 mm flat black powder coated finish -all paint to be warrantied for 3 years post completion and customer pick-up of build
Additional Requirements
-Troy Products or equivalent center console for 2024 Chevy 5550 to be purchased and installed by company to accommodate aux switches for lights, sirens, house PA system, mobile radio, additional ac outlets, etc.
-minimum of four (4) additional 12-volt power sources, two with double USB plugs, with covers, for recharging cell phones, or other 2 similar battery-operated devices -electrical switch panel shall be installed to operate the accessory lighting and equipment installed on the vehicle -Agency radio mounting panel consisting of one (1) radio panel blank filler plates or six (6) radio specific mounting plates shall be installed for Bendix King KNG mobile style radio -minimum of four (4) cup holders shall be installed, two (2) for front passengers and two (2) for rear; location shall be such that spilled liquid shall not interfere with electrical equipment -map light shall be installed to the passenger side of the console; it shall be a minimum of 12" in length, flexible, provide uniform light output with near zero glare. The light source shall be two (2) 3W LEDs‐one for red and one for white -one (1) mounting panel for PA control head shall be installed -one (1) open section of the console shall be supplied as an accessory pocket to allow for storage of maps -wire for District radio(s) as required by the unit including mounting of provided antenna and other wiring; Bendix King KNG mobile radio capable -upon completion, the apparatus shall undergo a complete pumping test that conforms to the requirements of NFPA Standard 1906 (latest edition) for the size and type of pump provided; test results shall be certified in writing and provided to USFWS at time of pickup/delivery.
Deliverable or Delivery Schedule
-The Government assumes full responsibility of getting vehicle to vendor and back to home Station once passing final inspection. Government representative will travel to vendor for final inspection.
Period of Performance
Delivery of ordered 2024 Chevy 5550 crew cab chassis will be immediately upon receiving the vehicle from GSA (estimated 9/2024). However, due to supply chain issues, the overall build timeframe shall be completed within 10 months after vendor receives vehicle.
