About this file
This document contains detailed specifications for a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) noxious weed treatment contract for fiscal year 2025, covering five separate treatment areas in Idaho. The contract involves herbicide application targeting yellow starthistle (and common crupina in one area) across a total of 2,969 acres in Washington and Payette Counties, with work to be performed on federal lands managed by the BLM's Four Rivers Field Office. Each treatment area (Almaden, Little Willow, Indian Creek, Four Mile, and Upper Sheep Creek) requires the application of 5 ounces per acre of Milestone aminopyralid herbicide and 8 ounces per acre of Grounded® adjuvant, with a minimum of 3 gallons of water per acre.
The specifications outline consistent requirements across treatment sites, including an approximate start date of April 14, 2025, with flexible timing to maximize treatment effects and minimize non-target impacts. The contractor must supply all herbicides, equipment, and work crews, with application restricted to temperatures below 85°F and subject to Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) approval. The total chemical requirements are 116 gallons of Milestone aminopyralid and 186 gallons of Grounded® adjuvant, to be purchased and stored by the contractor prior to the application date, with precise EPA-approved formulations specified. Elevation ranges for the treatment areas vary from approximately 2,760 to 4,900 feet, with slopes ranging from 5-125%.
