STATEMENT OF WORK

Furnish & Install Boiler at Asheville Visitor Center, Blue Ridge Parkway

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 DESCRIPTION

The work consists of removing existing HTI boiler from Asheville VC, disposal of the unit off park lands, and replacing with new Boiler as specified. The Contractor is to furnish and install unit in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.

1.2 LOCATION AND ACCESS

The work is located at: 199 Hemphill Knob Road, Asheville, NC 28805

1.3 CONTRACTOR FURNISHED ITEMS

The contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, transportation, equipment, tools, materials, layout and incidentals necessary to complete the contract requirements.

1.4 SITE CONDITIONS:

A. This site is an occupied unit and access inside mechanical room must be approved by the maintenance supervisor.

B. Coordinate all work with the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR).

1.5 CONSTRUCTION CAMP:

A. Establishment of a camp within the park will not be permitted.

B. Contractor shall at all times conduct his operations to ensure the least inconvenience to the public and the Park Staff working out of this facility.

C. Confine storage of materials to work area designated by the COTR. Confine all operations to work limits of the projects. Keep fire hazard to a minimum; remove from the site daily all oily rags, waste, and other combustibles. Place hazardous waste in marked containers, daily. Remove all trash and debris from the Government site to an approved facility off Government property.

D. Existing Utilities:

1. Contractor shall be responsible for locating and preventing damage to known utilities, if damage occurs, repair utility at no additional expense to the Government.

2. If damage occurs to an unknown utility, utility will be repaired by the contractor, an equitable adjustment will be made in accordance with the Changes clause of the contract.

3. Interruption of Existing Utility Service must have prior approval from the COTR.

1.6 FIELD VERIFICATION

A. Field verify all dimensions affecting the work of this contract before ordering products.

1.7 QUALITY ASSURANCE

All work and materials shall comply with the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC), American Association of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and all applicable local, state and federal codes, standards and regulations.

PART 2 MATERIALS

2.1 GENERAL

A. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, labor and incidentals required for installation of the new heating and cooling system.

B. All parts and labor shall be warranted for a minimum of one (1) year from time of start-up of the system by contractor.

2.2 MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

A. FURNISH AND INSTALL ONE (1) 199K BTUH GAS FIRE FLOOR MODEL BOILER

BACK IN PLACE OF EXISTING.

B. RECONNECT TO EXISTING BOILER PIPING, POWER WIRING, CONTROL WIRING,

COMBUSTION PIPING, AND GAS PIPING

C. All Parts and Connections necessary for the turnkey operation of these units.

D. Perform systems start up and operations check.

PART 3 WORK REQUIREMENTS

A. All work for removal and installation of equipment will be done by contractor in accordance with specifications to provide a turnkey job. Location of all equipment will be designated by the Government. Equipment will be installed to existing power and piping.

B. This Project is subject to the Davis Bacon Act and the attached Wage Schedules.

PART 4 CONTRACT CLOSE OUT AND PAYMENT

A. Perform complete system startup to check lines and operation of unit.

B. Instruct government personnel in the proper operation and maintenance of the system and provide operation manuals and information.

C. Provide equipment warranty information to the designated Government representative.

D. Remove all trash and debris from Government property. Leave job site neat and clean.

E. Payment will be made at the lump sum price quoted price for work completed by the Contractor and accepted by the Government.
