Statement of Requirements

Autonomous Surface Vessel

GENERAL: The National Park Service has a requirement for a Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) capable of conducting multibeam and sidescan surveys in waters 200m or less, with a survey grade positioning system and real time integration into Hypack software. This requirement also includes training for the equipment. The instrumentation must be capable of transport via small aircraft (i.e.

Cessna-185) to field locations. The ASV shall meet or exceed the specifications below.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:

Rugged design as surface vessel must be capable of small aircraft transport configuration - must be less than 2.5m length x 1.5 m width x 1 m tall in transportable configuration

Ability to be field assembled from a transport configuration

Adaptability of both remote and programmable autonomous operations

Data telemetry minimum of 1 km

Onboard datalogging capabilities

Survey speed capability of 4 knots

2 sets of user changeable rechargeable batteries with minimum 4-hour battery life

Integration with Hypack survey software

RTK/PPK survey integration capability with GPS heading

IMU (inertial measurement unit) integration

Interchangeable sensor capability if necessary to conduct both multibeam and sidescan sonar surveys

Shallow water multibeam echosounder integration

Minimum swath width 120o

Selectable frequency range for shallow water surveys up to 200 m depth

Beam density capability - minimum 256

Ping rate capability of 50 pings/sec

Sidescan sonar integration

Optimized for shallow water operations up to 100 m survey depth

Capable of instrument payload modification for ADCP and/or LiDAR integration into survey

A minimum 1-year warranty

This requirement includes training on instrumentation operations.
