Scope of Work. Rescreen screenhouse Bldg 71B.

The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Parlier, CA has a requirement to re-screen screenhouse consisting of the following characteristics:

Screen. The screen is made of monofilaments manufactured with special UV-resistant materials to provide durability and longevity and has strength to be tucked into grooves and held to structure by Z spline. New screen should be installed in convenient sections so future repairs can be done per section damaged rather than in entirety. The screenhouse structure is to allow natural ventilation and prevent entry/exit of small pests such as aphids and whiteflies. Mesh size is #50 (50/inch). Net should be recyclable and environment friendly.

Screenhouse. Dimensions 31 feet (width) x 75 feet (length) x 16 feet (height). Remove shadecloth and existing failing screen and rescreen with new #50 mesh (psyllid screen). Re-install existing shadecloth over the top of screenhouse. Screen secured to structure by z-spline and, currently, used to grow containerized citrus and grapevines.

Special conditions: Screenhouse must qualify and be certifiable as a CDFA protected structure and an USDA, APHIS, PPQ BSL2 structure because it is used to grow citrus which is transferred for research purposes to various labs and field by permit and inspection. All citrus plants have been removed until repairs are made, however, grapevines have no permit restrictions. Therefore, all work should be performed from the outside using mechanical lifts rather than ladders for safety reasons while grapevines plants remain in place.
