QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR FBO POSTING 901205405000016_CAS

Q1) What is the percentages of pelleted and un-pelleted seed that will be planted

A1) The number of pelleted vs un-pelleted seed will vary greatly depending on the study to be planted. For some studies, it will be 100% pelleted seed. However, for other studies it will be 95% un-pelleted and just 5% pelleted.

Q2) Is there a preference on row units? John Deere, Kinze, or other?

A2) We would prefer Monosem or John Deere.

Q3) Is 22” row spacing the only row spacing that is required?

A3) 22 inches will be the only row spacing.

Q4) What is the standard alley length?

A4) The alley length will vary depending on the study. It is usually 5 ft or 6 ft for most studies.

Q5) Do you need No till coulters?

A5) No, we do not need No-till coulters.

Q6) What is the typical seed size for both pelleted and un-pelleted seed?

A6) There is no standard seed size. The planter will have to deal with all sizes. We plant both raw seed from geneticists and pelleted seed from commercial seed companies all in the same pass

Q7) Does the end user have autosteer on the tractor and if so what brand?

A7) We have a Trimble system with a 750 monitor.
